24.01.2022 Newsflash: you're WOD isn't preparing you for life and your wobbly shit isn't correcting anything. RepostBy @resistancetrainingspecialist: "#Repost @myofix..._therapist I always come back to this quote by @drandreospina . When one part of a machine breaks down, it typically it stops working and needs to be repaired. . The human body is not like this. If a particular joint doesn't function well our bodies will compensate and continue to do it's job. . But this is how we get injured. When you repetitively load these compensated movement patterns pain can ensue. . Don't let it get to that point. Train your joints function in isolated tasks first. If your joints can't function on their own, we can't expect them to work well when integrated into movement. . Train joints independently, so they can do their job within the system. . If you have questions, comments, or concerns let me know. If you enjoyed, like, comment, and share . #functionalrangeconditioning #motivation #drandreospina #motivationmonday #movement #controlyourself #kinstretch #doanything @kinstretch #mobility #movementvariability #movementoptions #myofixfitness #makeshitworknice #makingjointsgreatagain #fit #fitness #powerlifting #crossfit #bodybuilding #mma #jiujitsu #judo #athlete #gym" (via #InstaRepost @EasyRepost) See more
22.01.2022 If your looking to develop or build your quads here are a few tips that might help you out. If you struggle to add weight to your front squats, elevate your heels when you BB squat. Make sure your stance is (shoulder width or closer) with your toes pointing straight. Make sure to stop at 90 at the bottom of the squat to maximise tension on the quads. Once you pass 90 you will also be engaging your glutes and hamstrings, also by not locking out at the top will keep constant tension on your quads. Tempo is also key, focus on (TUT) time under tension or half reps or pause reps. Last like any body part your trying to grow, you will need to train it more then once a week. #legday #quads

16.01.2022 LET'S TALK ABOUT "PROPRIETARY BLENDS" Have you ever bought a supplement that looked really great, only to find out from a friend that the ingredients were in ...quantities too small to be effective? How could you have been fooled?? I mean, it said citrulline and BCAAs right on the label!! Well, the company didn't exactly lie...but they twisted the truth. They got you to buy their product through sneaky marketing. They slapped fancy labels on the product advertising it as containing BCAAs and citrulline...and just made sure to conceal the dose. How did they do that? Simple. By using a proprietary blend. When a company uses a proprietary blend, they often sprinkle just a little bit of the advertised ingredients into a blend containing a whole bunch of other, cheaper ingredients. This is called "fairy dusting." When an ingredient is part of a proprietary blend, it's actual amount doesn't have to be listed. Instead, the amount of all of the ingredients within the proprietary blend is listed. For example, take the theoretical "product Z" Product Z lists it's ingredients in a proprietary blend, with 15 different ingredients combining to make a total of 5 grams. You can't tell exactly how much of each individual ingredient is in there, but you can get an idea of which ingredients are in larger doses than others since they're listed in order of highest to lowest dose in the blend. Of these 15 different amino acids and ingredients in Product Z, the BCAAs (leucine, valine, and isoleucine) are the 4th, 5th, and 6th ingredients listed, and citrulline is the 9th listed. Taurine, glutamine, and glycine are the first 3 ingredients in the blend, so we know that those are in the highest quantities. These could make up a total of 1 gram or even 4.5 grams of the 5 gram proprietary blend...there is no way to know!! But what we do know is that there isn't enough BCAAs and citrulline in the product for these to actually have any significant benefit! A dose of 5 grams of all 3 BCAAs (2.5 grams of leucine) is needed to effectively stimulate muscle protein synthesis, and 5-8 grams of citrulline is needed to enhance exercise performance. So why would a company use a proprietary blend? Mainly to create a product for relatively cheap while also being able to sell more of that product by overstating its benefits!! BCAAs and citrulline are very expensive, while ingredients like taurine, glutamine, glycine, and arginine are DIRT CHEAP If you're going to spend money on a supplement, it's always best to know exactly what you're getting. If possible, choose a product with the dose of each individual ingredient listed on the label. It may be more expensive, but it's more expensive for a reason. It probably works.
