25.01.2022 NO ELECTRONICS PAST 8 PM! Did you know the light from your devices phone, tablet, TV, laptop, computer messes with your bodys hormones and can make it harder for you to sleep? Thats because LED-based devices emit blue light, which can boost the cortisol levels in your body. ... Cortisol is the fight-or-flight stress hormone that is designed to get us up and moving when were confronted with danger. And that can have a significant impact on melatonin, the hormone that induces sleep. Thats exactly the opposite of what you want to have happen just before bedtime, right? I know a lot of us are addicted to our phones, tvs and computers. So thats exactly why this week, were going to shut all of them off at 8 p.m. so we can get a better night of sleep! As you know, sleep has a tremendous impact on nearly every aspect of your life, whether its losing weight, improving your mood, or being more productive at work. Most of us need at least 6 to 8 hours of quality sleep every night. but for a lot of us, getting that much can be a real struggle.
