24.01.2022 Did you know that it will take 4 Earths to bring the worlds population up to the standard of living we currently have in Australia. Evidently this is not desirable or possible. We have gone about developing our standard of living in a manner that is unsustainable to the planet. As humans we like to live in a relatively narrow temperature range with the majority of us being comfortable in a temperature range of 18 24 deg. Over the past 30 years we have turned on the heate...r or air conditioner to warm or cool the air to make ourselves comfortable. With some simple adjustments to our homes and the way we go about managing them, we can cut up to 50% off our energy bills and maintain light, warmth and comfort. Add to this the thoughtful use of renewable energy sources and we can easily reach a 75% reduction for a vast number of existing houses in Australia. What are the FASTER, BETTER, CHEAPER ways to make your home comfortable and sustainable? Like to know - call us for a Home Energy Audit.

18.01.2022 AUSTRALIANS PAYING $11.6B IN LAZY TAX According to reports this week, Australians are pay an extra $11.6 billion (See link below) by not shopping around, this includes: Home Loans - $649M Groceries $594M Energy $394M... Mobile Phones - $327M Savings of about $500 per person per year are available by doing the extra legwork. On energy we are wasting on average $187 per person by not looking for a better deal. A normal household of 4 is paying an extra $744 per year after tax, this is 66% of the average take home salary of $1133 for a week. Or look at it another way, the average household works for 24 hours (over 3 days) to pay for not getting the best deal on energy. As part of our modern world often both parents are working to make ends meet, time is a premium. One of the benefits of a HOME ENERGY AUDIT (Price $280) is a comparison of your existing energy tariffs against the market and recommendations of better plans to suit your household. See more

13.01.2022 John installed a 3kW solar system on his roof for $6500, to save money and to do his bit for the environment. But it did not work out the way he thought. Here is the rub, 12 months after installing the system John has saved $360 off his electricity bill. At this rate John will pay off his solar panels in approximately 15 years and this does not include any interest payments. (Actually the interest on $6500 equals the savings in the first 12 months = payback period signif...icantly longer than 15 years) Does this mean people should not install solar panels? Not at all, Johns house whilst meeting solar industry requirements is not ideal and his electrical consumption is mainly during the evening when the sun is not shining. I felt for John, this was a significant investment and did not meet his expectations. So what could have been done? Each household is different when it comes to energy consumption, how many people live in the house, do you use gas for heating or electricity, are people at home during the day, do you have a home office, what is the orientation of your house, do trees or other houses shade your property at particular times of the day etc. There are a number of variables. A Home Energy Audit will answer all these, plus more. It looks at your particular circumstances and makes recommendations on how you can Shrink your Energy Bill and save the environment at the same time. This includes: - what actions can be taken to reduce consumption, - what actions are needed to address efficiencies and; - what actions should be taken on renewable energies. You can save hundreds if not thousands of $$$ each year. For more information please message or call.
