25.01.2022 It Wont be long now!!! Hi Everyone. I hope you are doing well. How exciting is it that Australia is getting on top of COVID-19! All the restrictions and shutdown will be worth it when we can safely go about life again.... We dont have an exact date that we will be able to return to classes, hopefully well get some guidance at the end of the month. Early June is looking good! On return, Shukokai Karate Dojos will be doing everything we can to ensure that you and your child are safe at our clubs. We know that chances of infection are minimal, but lets keep things nice and tight to be sure. Some of the safety & sanitation processes we will have in place are: Temperature testing of everyone, including staff, before coming into the club Hand sanitiser stations - compulsory hand sanitising before entry and before entering the dojo Social distancing in the foyer (we know youll be excited to see your SKD family and friends, but youll have to hold off on the hugs and handshakes for a while!) Safe spacing in class between students (well put marks on the floor to make it easy) Live streaming classes so Mums & Dads can watch from their car Chairs will be removed from the viewing area so as to minimise potential contamination hotspots - but well have some on hand for those who need them Restricted class numbers A "Hybrid" timetable, so that online classes are still available as well as classes at the dojo A break between classes, so one class can leave before the next comes in, reducing the number of people in the foyer "Hot Spots" such as bathrooms, door handles, taps etc wiped down and disinfected between every class Full disinfect / clean at the end of every night Students to come to the dojo in gi ready to train, toilets will be available but not to change Thank you SO MUCH for your support through this time. Weve loved that the students have engaged with the online classes, and been able to maintain their training. 24.01.2022 Hi everyone, so we have been asked by the Casey Arc to take over teaching karate in their venue from January 2021. I am really excited by the opportunity and am looking forward to meeting everyone. Due to works being done at the ARC we have been temporarily relocated to the Berwick leisure centre located on Manuka road Berwick. We are holding a meet and greet tonight (see below post for details) and will be starting lessons again from January 4.... If you know of anyone that trained previously at the ARC or would like to start karate please invite them to like the page

18.01.2022 IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR HONBU DOJO! Just announced by Premier Dan Andrews. From midnight the 21st of June.... no limit on participants 18 years or under full contact training to resume for 18 years or under Adults - full contact training will be a few weeks later unfortunately. *Please note: Not all dojos may be resuming straight away. Were still waiting on the ok from Casey council for Clyde and Narre Warren. Keysborough to open on July 13 (start of term 3)
