22.01.2022 Have you ever been outside on a warm summer day and felt the urge to run barefoot in the grass? One of the easiest ways to ground yourself to the earth is to walk barefoot. Grounding or earthing is a therapeutic technique that focuses on realigning your electrical energy by reconnecting to the earth.. By placing your bare feet or skin in direct contact with the earth whereby electrons (from the earth) are taken up into the body! To ‘Earth’ effectively you must be barefoot, or... have direct skin contact on to a ‘natural earth source’ - so grass, sand, dirt or even plain concrete, for a minimum of 30 minutes. You can sit, stand, garden, exercise (swimming in the ocean or a lake also counts) what you do, doesn’t really matter as long as the flow of electrons can occur between the earth surface and your skin. Disconnected from the Earth we feel fatigued. Being isolated from the Earth by non-conductive materials such as wood, tile, and carpeted floorings in our homes, as well as rubber and plastic in our shoes, leaves us feeling unhealthy. Connecting with the Earth restores balance. When we make direct contact with the surface of the Earth, with our bare feet or hands, our bodies receive a charge of energy that makes us feel better, fast. While some of you may not believe in the electrons from the earth’s surface, just look at the simple benefits of simply the fresh air, getting out into the sunshine and getting a good dose of vitamin D, nature and time to yourself to just ‘be’! What I do know is that you will feel much more relaxed, calmer and generally in a much happier mood. HeyYou can’t knock it until you try it, and you may realise you maybe onto something!!!#earthing @shukuraparkfarm #gardening #meandmyshadow #wellnessjourney #farmlife See more

07.01.2022 I read somewhere that when we focus on our gratitude the tide of disappointment goes out and the tide of love rushes in! I was reminded of this today, for when I am gardening this is when I practice this focus. Oh, no.. not someone else banging on about all that Grateful Stuff....wellllll Learning to be thankful for what you already have while you pursue all that you want and being thankful for everything that happens in your life; it’s all an experience!... I have always found gratitude in my life and over the past 8 months, I have honed into and really embodied a daily practice! It really is the healthiest of all human emotions, the more you express gratitude for what you have the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for! When we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter just words, but to live by them! (JFK) Taking time to appreciate everything life gives to us is a very important way to stay positive, focused, and motivated. Especially in the most difficult circumstances, this will help you remember why you’re making those tough choices and chasing your dreams. Every one of us has our unique own story, our own adversities, sacrifices, and misfortunes whether few or great. However, do your best to remember how lucky you are and how much you have been blessed with. Know that these have given you strength and courage, for what you learn along the way will serve you for the rest of your life. Today I am grateful for the abundance of food I can grow. From the simple beginnings, the bugs, the slugs, the cold, wind and rain, (even that pesky bloody aloof veggie eating chicken), the persistance has certainly given me much to be thankful for! Share with me what you have been thankful for xx
