25.01.2022 Tomorrow, Saturday 25th April, is ANZAC Day. It will a very different day for our veterans. No March or Parade and they wont be at their local RSL with their mates. The hardest of all, they wont have their family, friends or the community saying thank-you for their service.... Tomorrow, at 5:55am, we have been asked to light a candle on our porch, to stand at the end of our driveways and play this video as loud as we can on our phones or speaker. 24.01.2022 Dr Max incorporates a variety of dental technologies to show you the changes that you can expect to see in your smile. For example, during your examination for veneers and crowns, Dr Max may create a wax model mockup of temporary teeth to accurately communicate the requirements of your procedure to the dental laboratory technician. Temporaries and wax mockups also offer you a preview of the expected outcome to ensure that you are comfortable with the proposed treatment plan.

23.01.2022 To the world you are a mother. To your family, you are the world. Happy Mothers Day

21.01.2022 We have chosen to return to our practice structure of having an oral health therapist supporting Dr Max Patel. This is not a reflection on Dr Michal (Michelle), Associate Dentist. We truly wish our practice was able to support her and Dr Max however this has proven not to be the case. ... We will remain in contact with Dr Michal, she is such a beautiful person and we are blessed to know her

21.01.2022 Many of you would have seen our last post explaining Dental has been eased to Level 1 restrictions. We can provide our usual treatment services. Come and get your teeth cleaned, whitened, filled, crowned, replaced with implants and so much more!... Dr Max and the team are very excited to see your smiling faces in the practice again!

21.01.2022 Your oral health should be evaluated before Dr Max develops a plan for your smile makeover. We complete a comprehensive evaluation of your teeth, gums, underlying support structure and bite (occlusion). If the examination reveals that you have an oral health problem such as a misaligned bite (malocclusion) or gum disease you will need to have that taken care of first.

21.01.2022 Sleep Dentistry This type of sedation involves receiving medication through a drip placed into a vein of the arm or hand. Intravenous (IV) sedation is provided by Dr Max (who has advanced training in conscious sedation). It can be undertaken at Siana Dental that has additional equipment. Patients are relaxed and may drift off into a light sleep, but they can respond to verbal prompts. Possible side effects include drowsiness and nausea after the procedure. Patients should not... drive themselves home after Sleep Dentistry. https://sianadental.com.au/sleep-dentistry/

20.01.2022 Happy Gas Nitrous Oxide known as happy gas or laughing gas can help people relax during dental treatment. A mask sits over your nose, and you breathe a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide through your nose. It takes effect within a few minutes and wears off quickly. ... You will feel relaxed but will still be awake. You can talk and hear but you wont necessarily remember everything once the visit is over. For most people, the relaxed sensation created by nitrous oxide sedation is very pleasant. Occasionally people dont like the sensation it creates, and other options can be considered. https://sianadental.com.au/inhalation-sedation-happy-gas/

19.01.2022 New Victorian school dental van program in development The Victorian Labor Party promised to invest more than $395 million in child oral health over four years through a new school dental van program. It is still in the development stage and is planned to be piloted in selective locations at the end of the year.... We expect a broader roll out next year. All children attending Victorian government primary and secondary schools will be eligible, approximately 700,000 children! The Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch is consulting with the Department of Health and Human Services with regards to: - The importance of continuity of care. Parents currently have a choice of their own dentist with the current childrens dental benefit scheme. - Family being involved in the oral health care of their children. This is achieved by parents being able to attend the appointments with their children.

09.01.2022 By avoiding going to the dentist, not only are you more likely to need more complex treatments when you do finally attend, but you are also missing out on learning how to better care for your oral health. The lifestyle factors that lead to dental disease are very similar to those that lead to diabetes, obesity, heart disease, stroke and some cancers, so taking care of your oral and general health is very important. https://sianadental.com.au/sleep-dentistry/

04.01.2022 A big happy birthday to our most amazing boss!

03.01.2022 Today is very conflicting for me... I am very excited to begin my maternity leave and welcome this little boy into the world- only 2 weeks to go! A smile is seen but my eyes (and body) are showing exhaustion.... At the same time, I am very sad that I am going on maternity leave; I will miss my boss Dr Max and the wonderful team at Siana Dental. I have worked at Siana Dental for over 5 years. I realised very quickly; this is the Practice I will retire at. After 17 years in the dental industry I found an employer and Practice that I connected with. When I started, Siana Dental had a dentist, a dental nurse and me, a receptionist. 5 years later, I am going on maternity leave as a practice manager, Dr Max our dentist, an oral health therapist, a receptionist, a clinical coordinator and two dental nurses. How it has changed?! Dr Max, you are the best employer I have had. A man who is so passionate about his profession, forward thinking, progressive and at times quirky (in a good way). Dr Max, you have not only been my employer; you are my friend and my brother. Not only did I join Siana Dental, I joined the Patel family. Over the years I have met and formed such amazing friendships with the extended Siana Dental family our patients. I am forever grateful for the many conversations, gossiping, laughs and most importantly the bonds we have formed. Rest assured, I plan to take 6 months leave with the view to be back February 2020. I am sure when I return Dr Max will be telling me to lower my voice and laughter as I will be very excited to spend time catching up with many of you! xo With much love, Jess

02.01.2022 To the world you are a mother. To your family, you are the world. Happy Mother's Day

02.01.2022 With a pending birth, I question whether my private health insurance is suitable as a family cover (rather than couple). Like many people, I went to iSelect and Compare The Market websites. This was followed by my phone being bombarded by sales representatives. After much frustration with the process, I found this website in one of my google searches, https://www.privatehealth.gov.au/... No one pressured me to sign up... actually they didnt even ask for my contact details before showing results so I had no calls from sales people! I selected 2 private health insurances based on cover and my budget. I went to their websites and compared their policies. I wanted to share my experience and the government website as I am sure I am not the only one who finds private health insurance quotes very confusing. Jessica, Practice Manager

01.01.2022 Siana Dental relocated to their purpose built practice November 2017. Today Dr Max was interviewed by the Australasian Dentist Magazine on Siana Dentals design, build and state of the art equipment installed. We are looking forward to sharing the editorial with you in a few months!

01.01.2022 The practice walls are getting a good scrub and new paint this weekend. Just like our walls, our teeth need regular cleaning and maybe even whitening to freshen them up!
