18.01.2022 A message from our Spiritual Director in regard to a short-term Volunteer Caretaker position at SIBA. Any questions or applications, please direct to [email protected] ***** Dear SLCD Sister Centres, members and friends,... Apologies if you have already received this message. I hope this letter finds you all well. As you may know, the committee appointed Dianne Tetley as the SIBA Co-ordinator at the end of last year. She has managed SIBA through quite a difficult time with bushfires and the recent COVID situation. She has also co-ordinated to have many maintenance jobs attended to, including fixing of the boiler and windmills. Due to these causes and conditions, we have been unable to host any retreats or events at SIBA since last November. Dianne needs to go back to England for two months from 8 July 2020 to attend to some family matters. So we are looking for a person or a couple to be a caretaker at SIBA during this period. We would prefer someone who has been to SIBA and is familiar with the place. I thought it would be a good opportunity for a practitioner in our community to make use of our beautiful SIBA Retreat Centre during this time for spiritual practice. In terms of the caretaker duties, they would include performing the Green Tara puja daily, watering the vegetable garden, feeding the chooks and mostly minding the place. All food and expenses will be covered by the Society. If you know of someone in the community who this volunteer caretaker position might suit, please forward to them, as well as to the rest of your community. I thank you for your assistance.
