19.01.2022 We had a surprise visitor last night. A Hercules Moth (Coscinocera Hercules). They are the largest moth in the world and can grow to have a wingspan of 27 centimeters. We actually thought it was a bat at first. The largest Hercules Moth ever discovered was in Innisfail and had a wingspan of 36cms. Unfortunately they only have a lifespan of 2 - 8 days so the ones people usual see are moribund.

16.01.2022 Another surprise visitor today. A lone Latham's Snipe (Gallinago hardwickii) appeared in our driveway resting at the lone puddle. So well camouflaged that I nearly ran it over. Luckily it moved which enabled us to get this photo.

14.01.2022 We were very pleased today to find that we have Musky-rat Kangaroo's visiting the office garden. This is the first time since we have moved that we have seen them and hopeful that these visits will become more frequent. We used to enjoy their visits at Cassowary House.

07.01.2022 The Welcome Swallow chicks we have in our garage has fledged. Here are 2 of the 4 chicks. Maybe this means we can park the car in the garage again which we have refrained from doing due to disturbing the nest.
