25.01.2022 Thanks to our beautiful friends at Bookssorted for the cupcakes! We absolutely love them! There were 4 cupcakes, but the boss got hungry before we could take the photo!

25.01.2022 What a fantastic day we had at the Australian National Botanic Gardens yesterday for the launch of the Jindii EcoSpa 'Banksia Kimono'. Congratulations to Bianca Prichard from Jindii for this amazing project, which has been a passion project for the last 12 months. Bianca teamed with some other amazing Canberra women in business, including Kelli Donovan, Pure Pod - Sustainable, and Abby French Bursaria Workshop to create these gorgeous kimonos.... A Kimono was gifted at the event to the ANBG to commemorate its 50th birthday, and a limited number of kimonos are now also available for sale from Jindii Eco Spa. There's more exciting news to come regarding the Banksia Kimono too...think international...and watch this space! With two choices of colour for the Kimono our Sheena and Dinah found it hard to choose which colour kimono to buy...so they each got a different colour (and can now share if they want a colour change !!).

23.01.2022 #WomenWednesday Today we meet Lifeline Canberra volunteer, Brenda Brown. At the beautiful age of 76, Brenda is in her 7th year volunteering at the Lifeline Canberra book warehouse (and bookfairs). ... Her primary role at the book warehouse is working in the children’s section, and as a grandmother of 11, she knows a thing or two about children’s books! This year Brenda has also volunteered at Book Lovers Lane at the Fyshwick Markets. Book Lovers Lane is Lifeline Canberra’s innovative COVID pivot; created to continue the sale of pre-loved books to the community, during a time when bookfairs were halted. While Lifeline was able to hold its first bookfairsince the first COVID restrictionslast weekend in Canberra, Book Lovers Lane will continue to play an important role in the fundraising efforts of Lifeline Canberra. Today we acknowledge the amazing efforts of Brenda in helping man Book Lovers Lane and her tireless efforts volunteering at Lifeline Canberra. 23.01.2022 Assistive technologies are vital for so many people. We’re big fans of the work of Assistive Technology Australia and so thrilled that they are in Canberra for a pop up Independent Living Centre on partnership with the amazing University of Canberra tomorrow. Thank you, WIN News Canberra for this great news segment. Check out this clip to find out more!

19.01.2022 Huge shout out to the fabulous Bianca Prichard, Managing Director of the equally fabulous Jindii EcoSpa in Canberra. We’ve been working with Bianca for the launch of her new Banksia Kimono, a passion project and commemorative gift to the Australian National Botanic Gardens on it’s 50th anniversary. Bianca wanted to give back to the gardens, where her business is located, and which inspires the products, décor and wellness treatments that occur within Jindii.... Bianca has collaborated with a number of other local businesses to complete this project, including Pure Pod - Sustainable, Bursaria Workshop, Frankie and Swiss and @BelleMarc. The kimono, which refelects Canberra’s link to Nara (as our sister city), is made from organic linen and is Australian made. A Banksia Kimono will be gifted to the ANBG this Sunday, and we believe it will then be put on display! You can read more about this fantastic project in the blog link below. Congratulations Bianca and team on such a wonderful initiative

18.01.2022 What a night! We frocked up to attend the Rubik3 Canberra Women in Business - CWB Gala Awards night last night at the National Arboretum Canberra. We were so inspired by the stories we heard and absolutely gobsmacked at the amazingly innovative female business leaders we have in Canberra. Congratulations to all of last night’s finalists and winners. ... We are so excited that our friend Tracy Lee won the Lerida Estate Wines Canberra Impact Woman of the Year Award and we were lucky enough to snap a photo with her. We are already thinking about next year’s event and know it’s going to be even bigger and better (hopefully it will be safe for us to hit the dance floor again too!). Special mention to Maryanne Gore and the CWB team for all their efforts, in a difficult year, to ensure the Awards night still went ahead. And of course, huge cudos to Rubik3 for sponsoring the Awards, your commitment to women in business is appreciated.

18.01.2022 In the year of crisis that has been 2020, shops and SME's have been forced to rely on the domestic market to support their business. As consumers we have changed our purchasing habits to help and support local industries. "Pre COVID-19, pre bushfires, there was definitely a sense that shopping local was important but I think now people see shopping local as critical." An ACT government initiative kicking off next month hopes to inject up to $3 million into Canberra's local bu...siness economy to fight-off the COVID-19 downturn. The Choose CBR trial will provide locals and visitors with $40 of daily vouchers in an effort to stimulate the local economy and get us all to buy local this Christmas. https://www.canberratimes.com.au//act-government-trial-d/

12.01.2022 This week we join in efforts across the country to recognise NAIDOC week and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC week is normally held in July, but in our year of 2020 celebrations were pushed back due to COVID. ... This year’s theme is Always Was, Always Will Be recognising that First Nations people have occupied and cared for our continent for over 65,000 years. We absolutely love the local event being run by Belconnen Arts Centre Share your NAIDOC connecting with and engaging schools, early learning centres, OSHC programs and childcare facilities to share how they are celebrating NAIDOC 2020 in a 3-minute video. The most creative and passionate entry will win a $500 gift voucher to put towards new Indigenous resources at their school or centre. There are runners up prizes too.
