13.01.2022 Norseman residents are correct. The CRC debate is not about cuts it is about funding changes which will put many CRCs at very high risk of permanent closure. ...Northcliffe CRC included. The government does not own CRCs, the local communities do, and will be forced by these changes to make the hard decisions about whether they can continue. There are several reasons why it may not be possible for us to roll back the clock to survive on the funding of five or six years ago. One of these is that in that time most CRC staff have been moved onto award wages, based on the recommendations of professional Industrial Relations advice. At this stage we can't see a legal avenue for unwinding that change. We are at very high risk of losing an asset that locals have built up for themselves over more than two decades of effort. Write to Minister Mactiernan - she's clearly not listening to us. See more
