24.01.2022 Congratulations to @zahidwp and Zaahida for passing their first grading. Looking forward to teaching you single sticking hands and more advanced skills. Someone looks happy #wingchun #internalmartialarts
22.01.2022 Like a vacuum is pulling your whole body forward. This is just an idea to help you to use your whole body mass towards the target. Initially it’s easier if you have the whole body moving in the same direction #striking #wingchun #wingchunkungfu #internalmartialarts #martialarts
21.01.2022 Increase your punching power basic tip is to make sure the spine (hence the whole mass is moving in a direct line behind the strike into the target. This will ensure that you use a greater amount of momentum and mass in your strike. #wingchun #kungfu #internalmartialarts #martialarts #selfsefence #kungfu
20.01.2022 Grateful for the extremely helpful police officer that came to take evidence from the robbery yesterday. Thank you once again for all the well wishes, remember things are just things, your health, happiness and the love you give is what matters. #grateful #forensicscience #copsaretops
20.01.2022 It’s hard to think outside the box when everything you learnt was from inside it. It tricky to speak your truth when all those around you believe differently. Regardless of what others may say and judgements that may be placed on you it’s important to live in truth. ... People’s opinions at the end of the day have no weight on your feeling of inner integrity. More importantly they have no weight on the balance of your actions to the creator / divine / nature / the Tao / God or whatever you may call your higher power. I personally have not found it easy to speak up at times, but every time I have the hard conversations it ends up being worth it. #speakyourtruth #truth #consciousness #thinkoutsidethebox

19.01.2022 Back in HK 2010... so many great memories and most importantly tonnes of Kung fu. Here is my Sigung and Sipo at my wedding, so grateful for my time in HK and the lessons that have come from that period in my life. #memories #HongKong #wingchun #kungfu
19.01.2022 This simple concept can really help you to open up your spine release tension and get a better flow of energy through your body. You can even imagine like an energetic hook that’s holding you up from the crown, which allows all the muscles to release relax and let go, kind of like your aligning yourself with gravity and allowing any tension to just drop off. The good thing about this exercise is that you can do it at any time anywhere it doesn’t require you to be at training or doing anything specific, you can just be going for a walk, doing the dishes, waiting for the bus, it doesn’t really matter it just takes being mindful and aware of the space above the crown and feeling like you’re hanging from that point. Do you do anything like this in your training? #HangingFromTheCrown #InternalMartialArts #TaiChi #Winton #OneTao #KungFu
19.01.2022 Wing Chun is apparently the only Martial art that was invented by a woman. Let’s be honest, it’s practical, direct, efficient, simple yet beautiful in its depth, so it must have been created by the wiser and tougher of our species... ie women. Now i know this is gonna piss a lot of guys off, as you think your better than women. ... But really we all know that women are the best. Firstly they’re the ones to give birth to us and nurture us all, when we are born and in our early years. secondly, they are the ones who give birth! That is bad ass and you gotta be super tough for that. They are much more beautiful than men, and tend to have more patience and insight than us in an emotional way. They naturally are much softer and ‘yin’ in their expression. They don’t have a hanging target that can be squashed with a snap kick. Amongst other things, so overall it makes sense that Wing Chun was created by woman. it’s also no nonsense and to the point, aiming to finish the fight as quickly and efficiently as possible. So my opinion, With all things considered and is certainly the best martial art for women (and men too ) #wingchun #wingchunkungfu #womenarethebest
17.01.2022 The real benefits of the ‘state’. The ‘state’ is the inner condition we practice which works with intention, energy, awareness and alignment. The ‘state’ empowers the mind and body for effective, powerful combat. But much more importantly it helps you to develop yourself personally and spiritually to become more at ease, greater peace of mind and simply just a lot happier. It’s not something to be overly discussed or theorised but more so to be experienced. The standing energy meditations we practice cultivated this condition, if you want to try one you can find them free on my Spotify, also on my YouTube channel. Just follow the links in my bio if you want to try #levelup #lettinggo #consciousness #meditation #spirituality #internalmartialarts
14.01.2022 My Student @marcuscianci doing some step and punch practice. When you do this make sure your whole body is moving towards the target, your guard is on centre and you direct your mass into the centre of then oppponet. #internalmartialarts
14.01.2022 Keep your body loose and free so that you can move regardless of the pressure. Practice maintaining an inner condition of softness and suppleness, whilst moving, especially when in context with a person. The tricky part is maintaining a balance between softness and the ability to prevent an opponent from just crushing through your guard. ... We do this in internal Kung fu via forms and sticking hands / pushing hands exercises. How do you find the balance between softness and not getting hit? #internalmartialarts #onetao #kungfu #wingchun #taichi #stickyhands
13.01.2022 What’s your Kung fu name? #kungfu #namegame
08.01.2022 Teaching the little champions how to use the tan sau rotation in a blocking strike. I always remind them that we train to help not hurt and for self defence not attacking others. So grateful that I can share the beauty of Kung fu with the next generation. #kidskungfu #nonviolence #selfdefence #onetao
08.01.2022 Have you ever felt a sense of calm? Do you remember those moments where you had an innner feeling of peace? The thing is is that that piece is always there, that calm is always present. ... The problem is is that we put our attention on that which is not peace, the daily dramas, the news, gossip, paying our bills, work, and all the other things which bring about a sense of disruption, stress and the like. By fixing one’s attention on that in a state of calmness, the presence of peace over time you’ll begin to realise that all the tasks that you normally do still get done, it’s just you approach them in a much,, more present and happier way. The more and more you practice meditation, mindfulness, being in the state, self-awareness, the study of personal and spiritual development the more you will find that you rest into that inner state of peace, it becomes your way of being in the world it is a yin gentle approach to life, not so much a forceful approach to living. Perhaps try it today, perhaps you can focus on that in a state of calm, just bring the mind to times when you felt that sense of peace, or even think of a person place or event that potentiates that energy from within, maintain the energy and surrender the image. Best of luck, peace love and kungfu #Peace #Calm #Presence #Consciousness #Spirituality
08.01.2022 Karma is a real thing. When I was a younger man I got into a heap of trouble, fights, crime, drugs and listening to gangster rap, playing violent video games, and hanging out with the wrong crowd probably didn’t help. I grew up in Chatswood which is a pretty nice area, it’s not rough like Harlem or Compton was back then and you’re not likely gonna get shot. However it was pretty rough and that there were heaps of gangs from different areas, that would often head clash. So fro...m the age of about 13 to 20 getting into street fights, gang fights and a variety of trouble was pretty common. A lot of my friends message me when they found out about the robbery and said it’s probably your karma being paid off. And I tend to agree. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to pay off any transgressions, applying this type of mindset to my life has been very helpful, whether it’s true or not. Intuitively I feel that it is, and it seems like any so-called negative that happens. Is really a hidden benefit, like I’m paying off, or is Napoleon Hill put it in his book think and Grow Rich to find the equal and greater benefit in any adversity. Thank you once again for all the well wishes messages and kindness that you guys have been giving around the recent robbery. Wishing you all much love and I hope that your karma is paid off in ways which don’t hurt you too much. Peace love and Kung fu. 06.01.2022 The more I let go the easier things seem to come to me. The less I try, the more I observe and be the easier life unfolds in the direction of my intention. I have heard of effortless effort and ambitionless ambition for a long time but never really understood how one can let go to grow or surrender to succeed. What really helped was realising that it was a letting go of doing and connecting to being. That sounds a little mystical however it is quite practical. All ‘doing’ is ...a consequence of ones ‘being’. The ‘being’ of a loving person ‘does’ loving things and sees love around them, the ‘being’ of a fearful person ‘does’ things from a place of fear. If a loving person walks past an injured man on the street they may stop and help if a hateful person walks past the same injured man they may kick them or take their wallet. It is the ‘being’ of the person which led to their actions (doing). So once we realise that it is our inner condition our state of ‘being’ which determines the thoughts, feelings and actions then we can focus on ones inner Beingness and observe how the doing is an autonomous consequence. This is a difficult concept to truly understand but once tasted gives us a taste of freedom. #beingness #letgo #surrendertheillusion #onewiththetao See more
06.01.2022 Connect to the WHOLE centre of the opponent, not just a point on their chest. This will activate the whole body towards the centre and naturally communicate to the body to cover the whole centre. A common mistake in chi sau is that people focus only to a point eg the point on the chest. This is common as it is the straightest path forward, least aggressive place to strike (for training) and so on.... However this creates a weakness that may be brought into real fighting, ie not covering your head and belly from strikes. So focus your whole body, intent and energy into the WHOLE centre from the crown down into the floor. . #centreline #focusonthewholecentrebro #wingchun #wingchunkungfu
05.01.2022 Calm down the adrenal glands by sensing the space above the head and sinking the feeling of ‘space’ down through the body. This helps to feel a connection with the etheric body (aka energy body) which releases physical tension, and encourages a better flow of energy within the body. This practice of sensing the crown space and sinking the space / energy downward enhances not only ones sense of calm but also increases ones power an d speed for combat by opening the joints and relaxing the muscles. When the muscles are more relaxed and the joints loose the body can move much faster and more powerfully. I find it fascinating that the more you develop spiritually the better your martial skill becomes. #crownchakra #internalmartialarts #onetao #kungfu #spirituality #consciousness #mentalhealth
03.01.2022 By drawing up from the pelvic floor (tai gong) and feeling the whole body, This unites the body mass and makes it easier to use one’s whole potential weight when making contact with the person. This is known as the waist link stance, Which is activated via the drawing up gently from the pelvic floor. I have found this helps to give an awareness for feeling the whole of the central column, allowing you to use the central column is a pillar of strength both structurally and once one develops the connection to the Energy body to use this central pillar as a source of rebounding energy. If your mass is also directed well towards the centre of the target you will amplify your power. #InternalMartialArts
02.01.2022 THE ONE HAT LIFE.... his means to be your spiritual intention in all areas of life. For example, be loving in your work, friendships, romaric relationships, with your kids, your health etc etc. as opposed to a different intention or energy for different areas ie loving with your friends, an arsehole at work, mean to your romantic partner etc etc. The one hat life is a way of being in the world. #onehatlife #nonduality #oneness #consciousness #spirituality #internalmartialarts #onetao #kungfu
