17.01.2022 What’s the Secret to Achieving Good Teeth? Ever wondered how stars keep their teeth in tip top condition? Let’s go beyond basic dental care and explore some tips and tricks for creating a dazzling smile. Visit the dentist more often ... Most people are guilty of only seeing the dentist every one or two years, usually when they’ve got a complaint. Others might stick to the general rule of visiting the dentist once a year. In reality, you should be seeing the dentist every six months. This ensures any emerging oral health issues can be nipped in the bud, preserving the health of your smile. Pick up the dental floss While a toothpick after dinner might provide a quick cleanup, it doesn’t truly tackle the build up of debris between each and every one of our teeth. Start forming a habit of flossing your teeth every night. If you’re not yet convinced to pick up the healthy habit, remember that brushing only gets 50% of the gunk off your teeth! Swap to an electric toothbrush Are you still using a manual toothbrush? Electric toothbrushes are more effective at removing plaque and are less harsh on your gums, protecting your smile over time. Your gums are the basis of your overall oral health, so it’s important to brush in a gentle yet effective way. Eat for healthy teeth We all know that sugar can cause cavities, but do you also know what foods you should be adding to your diet? Because your teeth are part of your skeletal system, calcium is fantastic for them. Some great sources of calcium include milk, yoghurt, cheese and green leafy vegetables. Your gums also benefit from vitamin C, so make sure to fuel up on citrus fruits, broccoli and tomatoes. Rinse your mouth after drinking dark beverages Many of our favourite beverages can actually stain our teeth over time. To combat this, rinse your mouth with water after you have red wine, coffee or tea. However, don’t make the mistake of brushing your teeth right after having some acidic, like the beverages we’ve mentioned. Acid compromises your teeth’s enamel, so brushing them too soon can cause damage to the exposed surface. These are some of our favourite secrets and tricks for keeping your teeth in great condition. If you’ve got any other questions about taking care of your smile, get in touch with us

11.01.2022 ? When choosing a local dentist, it’s important to find someone you trust to do a great job, and feel comfortable with. Here are the qualities we suggest looking out for to ensure you get a great dentist. A great dentist should be incredibly knowledgeable about dental health, and be up-to-date with all the new methodologies and dental technologies... . Dentists should always be brushing up on their knowledge of new research and technologies in order to stay at the forefront of their industry. Their degrees and certifications should be proudly displayed in their clinic as a testament to their academic commitment. Great dentists should focus on preventative care, empowering patients to take control of their own dental health. They should also thoroughly inform patients of their treatment options to provide peace of mind and assuage any fears. Going to the dentist is a nightmare for many people, but a great dentist should be able to address this by creating a welcoming atmosphere. All other staff at the clinic should also be friendly faces, alleviating any anxieties the patient may have. A great dentist should be able to communicate effectively, educating patients on their diagnosis and treatment options in a clear, jargon-free manner. Great dentists try to make their patients’ experiences as stress-free as possible, which means they need to devote proper time and attention to each patient. There’s also no room for error with dentistry, which means your dentist definitely shouldn’t be rushing when working on you! Your dentist’s clinic should be hygienic and safe, with all instruments being thoroughly sterilised or single-use only. Staff should also be wearing gloves and face masks, and all equipment that enters patients’ mouths should have covers on them. A great dentist should demonstrate passion for their work, brimming with excitement when giving you advice and going above and beyond to support you. Most importantly, your dentist should strive to ensure your satisfaction. Online reviews will give you a chance to check this out for yourself, making sure that previous patients have been happy with the service they received from the dentist you’re considering. When choosing your next dentist, make sure to take the above tips into consideration to ensure you end up with a dentist who makes you feel comfortable, informed and healthy

10.01.2022 From the team at Signature Smile Studio, have a great weekend. Keep smiling

05.01.2022 What an amazing gesture. It's so rewarding being to able to help someone feel special about themselves again.

01.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Signature Smile Studio is open for all Dental Emergencies during Stage 4 Restrictions Dear Valued Patients,... The Dental Board of Australia and Victorian Government has mandated that dental practices across Melbourne Metropolitan to implement a Level 3 protocol for all dental procedures. In the interests of patient and staff safety, we will be implementing this protocol at our dental practice for the coming weeks until the restrictions are eased. In Level 3 Dental restrictions, we can offer limited procedures to our patients. We will still be open to help our patients with any gum/face Swelling, Bleeding, Pain, Broken Teeth or Dental Trauma. However, we will not be able to provide any routine dental care such as check-up and clean, small fillings or other cosmetic procedures. We can always keep your details and will contact you once these restrictions are eased. What to expect when you attend the appointment? If you fall under one of the categories where we can still provide the dental care, we would like to advise you about few things. 1. Appointment times are adjusted so that only one patient is present in the clinic at any one time. You are required to keep your mask on till you are seated for the dental treatment. 2. We only allow patients to enter the clinic and no accompanying persons are allowed unless accompanying a minor patient. 3. We would ask you to sanitize your hands upon arrival and answer questions regarding any Covid symptoms. 4. You will be asked to use a mouthwash before any procedures. 5. Once the procedure is completed you will be asked to sanitize your hands before leaving the surgery. Restricted Operational hours We will be also reducing hours of operation during the Stage 4 Lockdown to minimize movement for our staff and patients. We are open from 10am-3pm Monday to Friday till further changes. However, our phone lines are monitored from 8 am till 7 pm every day to take calls and provide the best help and support to our community and patients. We are always a phone call or email away should you have any concerns or need any appointment for your treatment. Thanks for your patience and support. Stay safe. Kind regards, The Team at Signature Smile Studio
