25.01.2022 Are you aware of the ultradian (less than a day) rhythms and the basic rest and activity cycle? These are the daytime equivalent of circadian rhythms, proposed that the last 20 minutes of every 90-120min cycle, is meant to be used to rest, recharge, re-energise and recuperate. The rest allows energy to be cultivated to start another cycle of high energy tapering off to rest. If we don’t get the 20 min rest we may draw on the body budget and energy will be taken from the gut,... liver, immune system etc, leaving us vulnerable and prone to infection/disease. Most people have the coffee break about then to perk up, which may feel very productive short term but long term it could be a disaster. I teach this concept in clinic to those who find themselves suffering from short bouts of fatigue. Those more prone to depressive thoughts report using the feeling of not having energy (20 min ultradian healing response) to write off the rest of their day as a "depressive day off/out". Once they understand that its natural to have these slumps in energy every 20 mins they can break the habit of writing off the day and be optimistic that its only temporary. Its an opportunity to pick them selves up to get on with their day after a brief rest. Your boss may not like this concept though its up to us to make use of the 20 minutes to watch the breath, stretch or another quiet activity that you find relaxing to maintain. Enjoy your cycles!
20.01.2022 Hi All. I just wanted to share a feel good story about my latest pain management client. This one stands out as being the most severe case of hyper sensitivity ive worked with. Moving and focusing his eyes is a trigger for physical pain as is any light source, low level sound and most touch. Cant use a phone or rest his head on a back rest or listen to music...wow! Has built multiple pain associations to most of his environment and senses. He's spiraling further in to his dep...ressive state being worn down by the pain. We tried multiple chairs to find one acceptable so he wasn't in excessive pain and so i had half a chance of getting him in to working state. This guy is such a mess and i cant help but feel for him. All this pain was affecting his stress response impacting on his gut with all the relative symptoms that wear us down. First session he symptom scaled at a severity of 8 out of 10, which reduced to 3/10 post session. He smiled and his partners face glowed with excitement saying she cant remember the last time she saw him smile. Not only was this a win for him reporting that after all the specialists he has seen he now has hope but for his relationship too. Second session today presented at a severity of 4/10 down to 0.5 to totally gone post session. I'm one of those that won't just show the initial treatment response as the final result and will report back in if/when the pain returns to some degree by next session. For me this is a win as that smile reminded me of just how powerful this work can be and how it can not only change lives but improve relationships too

10.01.2022 Why eat mindfully? Well there are many reason though one is that if you don't you may not get the nutrients from your foods that is the purpose of eating in the first place. It comes down to our autonomic nervous system and our emotional state. If you sit down at the dinner table, unhurried, calm with loved ones, your gut will digest food in this rested state. If you're arguing with loved ones, watching a violent tv show or playing a battle game, then your digestive processes... will be shut down and the nutritional nourishment will be flushed directly out of your system. All it takes for your internal body guard (Amygdala) to initiate shut down of your digestive systems is one visual or mental image, real or imagined. This puts you in a nervous state of feeling unsafe, and for the next hour nourishment will be lost. So tip for the day is....Eat calmly enjoying the sensations of the food, surround yourself with loved ones, keep a positive frame of mind and avoid any triggers such as tv, the news or violent shows, while and for an hour after eating. Once the food has digested your body will have its resources to utilise. Its always a great idea to stop all those excitable activities for the rest of the night to assist a good night sleep and finish off the evening with a calm the mind.

01.01.2022 Another happy client suffering with post op pain from surgery 8 weeks ago. Thousands of dollars on chiro, physio and pain management. Within 40 seconds her neck pain went from 7 out of 10 and completely gone at 0 out of 10 Within 40 seconds her thoracic back pain went from 4/10 and completely gone at 0/10... The look of disbelief then happiness on her face was priceless! Love my job!
