23.01.2022 Come join us on May 20th at the Million Paws Walk - Limestone Park, Ipswich!!!

22.01.2022 We have been getting an increasing number of puppies and dogs coming to us with parvovirus in the last couple of weeks. The worst thing about this debilitating and potentially fatal disease is that it is 100% preventable!!! Please make sure that you are vaccinating your puppies, mums that are likely to have pups mad that you're keeping up with booster vaccinations in adults. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask our friendly staff.

22.01.2022 Hello to our wonderful clients! Sam here and I am sad to say that today is my last day at Silkstone. I would like to say a very big thank you to all of you who have made the last 2 years so rewarding. I've met some fantastic pets and some amazing owners. Unfortunately it is time for me to move on, though I will always remember my time here with a smile. Good luck for the future and I know that the rest of the wonderful crew here will always look after you with the greatest care and compassion.

04.01.2022 One of our happy (and tired) puppy preschoolers Cosmo. If you would like your new puppy to have a bit of a play, get started on some training and get a little more used to the vets being a not so scary place, give us a call to book in for the next class.

04.01.2022 New puppy at home? Struggling with toilet training? Then this training tip is for you! Decide where you would like the puppy to go whether it be outside or on a puppy training pad. Take the pup there regularly! An 8 week old puppy can only hold for about 3 hours. So after every meal, sleep, play session take the pup to the designated toilet area and use a command eg "Toilet time". Ignore the pup until they start to go to the toilet in the right area - then use the high u...nderpants voice to praise them and tell them how good they are. If they've gone to the toilet in the wrong place, you can't really tell them off unless they are in the act. They won't remember what you're getting mad at. If you do catch them in the act, just a quick, deep "Uh-uh" or "No" then pick them up and take them to the designated toileting area. If they keep going there then praise them for doing the right thing in the right spot.
