12.01.2022 Beeswax Wraps are a wonderful way to get more out of fresh produce such as herbs. Wrap it in a beeswax wrap and store in the fridge, just like these chives.

11.01.2022 Day 12: Following on from yesterday about freshening up your wrap! ...Place your wrap on an oven tray lined with baking paper. Preheat your oven to approx 140 degrees. Once warm, put the tray in the oven for about 2-3 mins. Take out of oven and very quickly and carefully pick up the wrap by the top corners & gently waft it around for 1-2 mins. It dries very quickly. The warmth of the oven will re distribute the wax, which will give give it back some life a little longer. **Notice have done mine and looks and feels far better than yesterday.

07.01.2022 Your wraps might feel a little tacky when they are new. You also might get some residue on your bowls. Can be a little annoying but that tackiness will disappear after a few uses. Remember they are still doing what they are meant to do. Keep food fresher for longer! Oh and it goes without saying... Less Plastic!

06.01.2022 Don’t be afraid to wrap your onion in a wrap. I’ve never had an issue of the smell being retained in the wrap. Just wash in the usual way. If you feel like you can still smell it, wash with cool soapy water and air dry for a couple of days before storing.

05.01.2022 Long Post: Time to sit back & have a coffee! With a New Year beginning I thought I would introduce myself here Over the years I’ve been a dental nurse, qualified dress maker, teacher/textiles teacher, colour consultant, Have run my own dressmaking business, predominantly weddings & children’s wear. I am currently teaching/tutoring & run Silky Oak Crafts. I created this page so I could use it as a platform to share my love for all things craft, with fabric as my main int...erest. I was introduced to beeswax wraps a few years ago (Thanks Jess ) I suddenly realised the difference I could make by the way I lived by using wraps instead of plastic I began making them for my own use, quickly realising just how amazing they are & I wanted to share with others. I experimented for months & months & literally spent hours & hours searching for the perfect food grade Australian products & to work out the perfect ratio of combined products. And to this day I’m still working on improvement. I now have a wonderful opportunity to combine my love for quality fabrics, using colours & combinations & sharing how to begin a change to plastic free living My life has changed, my food stays fresher for longer & inside my fridge is predominantly plastic free. I couldn’t wait to get my products into the community I love what I do, I love my customers, I love the product I’ve created & silly as it sounds, I get excited every time I put a beeswax wrap pack our pouch pack together. If you’ve read this far thank you, for allowing me to tell you a little of my story....And I do not intend it to finish here!!!
