18.01.2022 BULLA BURRA HEADER CAB MATHS There are approx. 2200 barley grains in a can of normal strength beer. At current prices there is just over A$0.01 worth of barle...y in a can of beer. (1.3 cents) 20kg of barley can produce approx. 350 cans of beer. 1 tonne of barley can produce approx 17,500 cans of beer. Each of our harvesters is currently harvesting enough barley per hour to produce over 500,000 cans of beer. And over 90% of our barley is going malt. You are welcome. Cheers!

04.01.2022 Calling seeder operators - who like to be at the cutting edge. Halcyon Downs is needing a skilled tractor driver to operate our 24m iPaddock #alphadisc seeder, ...with the position available from now until around June this year, with potential for ongoing work and/ or harvest work later in the season. The iPaddock Alpha disc seeding system evolved from 10 years of ongoing design and development at Halcyon Downs, and it was hugely exciting to finally see this very cool 24m machine come alive in May 2020. With 128 seeding rows on the 24m integrated toolbar, which is rear mounted to a 24,500L aircart on tracks, this is the worlds biggest disc seeder to have narrow 7.5" row spacings, and all designed from the ground up, right here on our Esperance properties. Sowing at 14kph, the big Alpha is covering 33 Hectares (80 acres) per hour, and with the large aircart we can knock out 100 Hectares to each fill. It is hugely satisfying smashing out Hectares in this machine, especially when you can also see the quality job it is doing. Your main task this season will be seeder operation, as we sow our 6000Ha cropping program, using the new 24m Alpha disc seeder. If you have an interest in innovative machinery design and operation, as well as using the iPaddock apps which have also been developed on our farms, you will enjoy this seeding season! Applicants must have genuine hands-on farm experience, backed up with good references from other farm employers. A core value at Halcyon Downs is workplace respect and harmony, so you will need to be a good team player, who makes an effort to get along with your colleagues. Work can start immediately, but you would need to be here no later than 1 April, and leave no sooner than mid June 2021. There are generous government relocation subsidies available at the moment as well, which is a definite bonus.
