20.01.2022 Truck driver, Brendon Gilbert has been honoured for his heroic actions after helping a motorcyclist having a medical episode on one of Sydneys busiest roads. ...Mr Gilbert of Silverdale Sand & Soil Pty Ltd was travelling on the M4 behind the rider, who began to hang off his bike and fall to the ground. The quick-thinking Mr Gilbert took prompt action, bringing his truck to a stop and assist the rider until paramedics arrived. Mr Gilbert has been honoured with a Bridgestone Australia Bandag Highway Guardian Award, an accolade that recognises great community service of professional truck drivers in performing heroic and selfless acts while carrying out their normal role. "Brendon Gilberts story is another example of the incredible skills Australian truck drivers have, as well as the vigilance and attention to what is going on around them," ATA Chair Geoff Crouch said.

Shane from Bridges...tone, the Ben Maguire CEO of Australian trucking association and Chief Inspector Phil Brooks all attended. The ceremony was held at our premises at Silverdale. All our staff attended and represented our company with respect and conducted themselves in a very professional manner. To say we are proud of ALL our staff today is an understatement!
