19.01.2022 Here are some examples of British glass produced in what is becoming commonly referred to as smoked or smokey glass. This glass was popular in the 1960s though to the late 70s. All these examples in this photo are connected in some way the Whitefriars amethyst soda glass vase designed by Geoffrey Baxter. Whitefriares was purchased by Caithness glass in 1981 which produced the loch blue brandy balloon. Caithness glass was bought by Dartington glass whose chief designer Frank Thrower designed the Brutus FJT6/2 Midnight colour Vase which was marketed by Wedgwood glass during the time they had invested money in Dartington Glass Company in 1982. Lastly is the midnight blue candle holder made by Wedgwood glass.

11.01.2022 hi just a few things you can find at www.silverfoxcollectables.com

10.01.2022 Up for sale in my eBay store silverfox_collectables is this 1930s Davidson orange Amberina Cloud glass 10 inch shape D/969 flower bowl. Davidson cloud glass came in eleven colours of which Orange is the second rarest colour. Most of the Orange Cloud Glass available for sale today comes from Australia and New Zealand. This suggests most of the orange cloud glass was made for the export market. Orange Cloud glass was difficult to make and more expensive than the other Cloud Col...ours available at the time. Typically Orange was between 20 and 25% more expensive. Davidson also produced two variants. The first Orange Cloud Glass had trails that were very yellow, appearing like custard on the rims of bowls and vases. Davidson had many production problems with this variant, and produced a modified form in time for the 1934 British industries fair. Orange Cloud Glass caused Davidson many problems. It was both difficult and expensive to produce. As a colour, it was not popular in England and the bulk of production went abroad. The short life of the colour suggests that its popularity abroad was not great. I can find no records of it being produced later than 1936. See more
