24.01.2022 Although many absent from our last clogging lesson, we had a blast dancing our many favourite routines....... sped up! Too much fun to video the whole thing!

22.01.2022 Our junior group had their Christmas party and awards last Saturday and it was a fantastic afternoon for all. A special shout out to Asher and Lucy for their 1st year of clogging. Maggie for 10 years of clogging and Amy for 15 years of clogging.

15.01.2022 Silver Soles Cloggers are now on Summer break, we will resume classes on Feb 1st. It has been a tough year but an interesting year, with so many challenges to deal with from beginning to end. In many ways the difficulties have been just a test, we had to find ways to alter our 'usual' patterns, and we did; our members have come through relatively unscathed. Once we were back on the dancefloor, there was no stopping and we worked our way through to the last possible session.... We finished up with a great day yesterday, 2 separate events in 2 different venues, due to restrictions on numbers. In the afternoon we held the Junior Presentation Concert and Awards and in the evening, a Christmas Social dance with fun dances for the Adults, a demo and a visit from Santa (alias Bill) for Secret Santa gifts. All topped off with a beautiful supper provided by our own dancers. We are positive that next year will be at least 100% better than this one and everyone will be able to jump right in and dance to their heart's content. Don't look back ! Many thanks to Emma Waters for her help through the year teaching Int +, and handed over to Amy Van Louizen after baby Ayden arrived. Amy teaches our Juniors and young adults and they are all doing brilliantly and having so much fun, they love you Amy. Thank you to the parents who have taxied juniors to and from classes, great stuff, keep up the good work, at least some are near licence age and will soon drive themelves. And a big THANKS to all our Cloggers who make every class a worthwhile event. Ladies and Gentlemen, give yourselves a backpat, you deserve it. We have a good number who are interested in attending the Convention in 2021 Adelaide, so we will be working consistently towards that next year. 12.01.2022 Hello Cloggers, I hope everyone is in good health, tough times ahead. As you will know by now, our club has gone into recess until the beginning of Term 2, all being well...but with no guarantees. I realise this is disappointing for many but we are doing the same as most of the community recreational activities to provide a safer environment. Before you know it, we will have breezed through the lockdown period and we will be on our way once more. If you are in the beginning ...stages of Clogging, you might like to access the Beginner Step videos on the ACA website. If you are in the other levels, then pick out a dance from the cue sheet list and put your feet to work. If you don't recognise a step, get in touch, it is sometimes easier to see it written in full. I can help there. In the meantime, keep your spirit light, find things to do at home that have needed attention for a while and before you realise, we will be back on the floor. 10.01.2022 Dust off your dancing shoes......................................... Silver Soles Cloggers will be back on the floor for 2020 starting February 3rd at Kambah. Bring your enrolment forms, shoes, water ............and a Packet of seeds for the Bushfire appeal. I am sending off the bundle in 2 weeks, let's see what we can do in that time ! This year as in other years, we have 16 new dances on the National Dance List (which means 16 have been removed) however, we will dredge them... up from time to time so we can enjoy those dances once again. All dance sheets are on the ACA website. All can be downloaded and printed out if you want to start your own folder. In May there will be a call to dance at the Connect & Participate, Kingston Bus Markets. This is something we all enjoy and is a great opportunity for our dancers to get out in public to show our activity. Later in the year, the National Convention will be held in Adelaide - an chance to travel and meet up with other Cloggers from around Australia. I have registration brochures if you need one, or the information is on the ACA website. And towards the end of the year, I am sure we will once again be requested to dance at many events including fetes, seniors days, Christmas Lunches etc which we all seem to have fun at. I get so much positive feedback from the various places we have danced, they just love it ! So let's get started, we have a busy but fun filled year ahead; when you Register for the year, adults need to bring $20 for Membership to Silver Soles Cloggers Inc. as we are an Incorporated Club and this provides us with a base level of finance, it also allows you to vote at our AGM or stand for a position on the Committee. I am looking forward to catching up with everyone at classes, bring your friends if they would like to have a go. See you there Louise

08.01.2022 Welcome back to the floor, Cloggers, it has been a long haul and has really tested our patience. However, we are back on track with 3 halls out of 4 now open for our activity. Last week, it was Melba hall for the first time and a great turn up of very keen Cloggers. Torrens has seen 2 weeks with increasing numbers as people come to test the waters. We are complying with Health regulations, distancing, sanitising etc, Canberra has been very fortunate - we have intelligent peo...ple here who follow rules and regulations which has helped keep us all safe. I look forward to moving forward with no further concerns. Our return to classes means that we have lost a bit of ground work, so in our first few weeks, we are just working at a moderate pace, with lots of reinforcement just to get our confidence back. Plenty of time to get stuck into the tricky stuff. Children and young adults resume officially today, and I know we have a couple of very happy youngsters wanting to get back into their fav activity. I bet their shoes no longer fit them. Many thanks to Amy for her ongoing support online for the Juniors, keeping them dancing and involved. At this stage in the year, we are usually working towards a National Convention, with other events to follow, but sadly everything was either cancelled or put on hold, so we have just one to look forward to - the Eddison Senior Lunch which where we perform each year at the Irish Club. I have no doubt things will soon start to regenerate and we will be as busy as usual by the end of the year. Our 2020 Convention is now a 2021 Convention and Canberra is also now pushed forward to 2022. Oh well, more time to prepare. Happy Clogging everyone, great to see those smiling faces again. 08.01.2022 There are only a few more weeks left of our Dance year but it will be busy till the last moment. Silver Soles have a couple more committments in the Community with a fete at Florey Primary on 30th Nov. We're dancing at 11am if you want to pop in. There are always bargains on the book and plant stalls. On Thursday night 5th Dec, we will once again be at Bunnings on the BBQ and dancing in the Lecture space. It's our last fundraiser for the year and a fun night for the familie...s. See you at 6pm for a free sausage sanger. Then on Tuesday morning, 10th Dec, we will take the Class to Communities @ Work in Holder and provide entertainment for the Seniors. They loved our performance last year. Last Friday, we danced for the Eddison's Senior Lunch Club, we have been doing that one for about 8 yrs now, they really love the music and dances we perform. Our Junior's Award Presentation will be held on Saturday 14th Dec at Torrens. 2-4pm and includes a dance presentation from each class and a little Xmas Party for the children. After a final class and Xmas lunch on Tuesday 17th Dec, we will pack away our shoes and club shirts and take a break for a few weeks over Xmas and New Year. We will return in 2020 for another exciting year of new routines, fancy steps, some travel (Adelaide Convention) and no doubt plenty more Community Events. It keeps us busy, it definitely gives many people a lot of pleasure; both dancers and the audience, so enjoy the holidays and see you in the NY. See more

03.01.2022 "Generation Z" This was a dance put together by our junior team for the 2019 Clogging Convention in Currimundi QLD. We were joined by 2 Cloggers from QLD who helped make this a successful demonstration. ... We wanted to show everyone what Generation Z had to offer, How did we do?

03.01.2022 Silver Soles Cloggers Adults and Juniors are working their way through numerous public events. Recently we danced at the Bonython Primary School Fete and over the next few weeks we will provide entertainment at Majors Creek Music Festival and the Eddisons Senior Xmas lunch as well as Florey Sch fete. In Dec we will be out and about again, dancing at the Communities @ Work Xmas function, Bunnings Xmas promo night and finally the Juniors will entertain their families at their o...wn Presentation Day, to be held at the Torrens Community Hall - followed by Annual Awards and a party. A fabulous way way to finish up the year. This is a busy time for our teams, however, it is very rewarding and we know the dance performances give great pleasure to our audiences. We are only too happy to do these events, to give our time willingly as our Community contribution. For our Juniors, it allows a deeper understanding of their role as a volunteer, a chance to give something back. We have just 7 weeks left of the dance year before a well earned Summer break, so let's rattle those taps and stamp up a storm. See more

02.01.2022 Fantastic night at Bunnings for their Xmas Promo, Silver Soles volunteers on the barbie (see photo) Silver Soles on the dance floor, Santa roaming and kids enjoying all the activities. Thank you so much to the BBQ helpers and to our dancers who have been out and about these past 8 wks. We have one more presentation at the Seniors Xmas party in Holder, then you can hang up your shoes till Feb. The Juniors will receive their Awards on 14th Dec, entertain their families and e...njoy a little Christmas party. They have worked hard and have achieved so much. Thank you to Amy Van Lohuizen for her dedication to the Junior teams, we have many budding Leaders in our younger ranks these days, Clogging in Au can only get better. Our adult division will hold an end of year morning tea on 17th Dec, then we are done for 2019. It has been very busy this term, so I am sure everyone will be ready for a big break. Time to rest up, visit the beach and catch up with the rellos. Have a great Christmas everyone, thank you all for your ongoing committment. Looking forward to a fun year in 2020.
