24.01.2022 Starting to train now. Given the dwarf trellis aka Saaz and Jakes Gold some love. Irrigation and mulch. They won't know what's hit them ;) I'm running nutrients via a 9000L tank now. New Bore pump fills that up in a day! Then takes the 1/2 HP Solar pump two days to pump that through the drippers. Working well. Two days of above 35 coming. Baby frogs living in the fresh wood chip mulch already ;) great signs. Hoping to have a big season. Pickers Accom and on site help shoul...d up our numbers a bit. We're doubling up our dehumidification in the oast too. That will help with turn around times when slow drying. Cheers Stu

22.01.2022 Xmas potatoes on track!!! Bush beans, Corn and Spring onions went into Garlic bed. Great germination. Cheers Stu

21.01.2022 End of November update... Mostly strung now...takes a while but its not too hard now. I know exactly what I'm doing. Cheers Stu

20.01.2022 Anyone still keen on Rhizomes? This is Warri Parri hops. Named after the river it was discovered in. All I really know about it so far is it's old and definitely likes the Adelaide hills lots. ... Large cone which is almost a square shape. Much like Jakes Gold it has very turpine aromas when crushed up. Not sure on how it flower yet(as in how.much per plant) or anything else much about it. I only found it November last year. Will be sending for cone analysis in the US this year(got a bit hard with covid or it would've been tested). I'm putting a big row in so I needed some stock. Will have excess rhizomes. Let me know if anyone is keen and I'll hang some up on the website asap. Somewhat surprised how large its become in only 1 year in a pot. Its definetly a survivor this one. Cheers Stuart

20.01.2022 Well ive finally managed to get 200kgs of thermal mass into the hot house. Wow it works extremely well now. Shouldve done this years ago. $29 for a second hand olive drum. So not an expensive upgrade either. Im just setting up to do a run of xmas seedlings. Seedlings are the best gifts! I figure if people dont look after them then the present dies. If they do look after them, theyll have some tasty tasty home grown food a few weeks later. The best seeds the best soil mix, so ...theyll be looking 1000 times better than anything that big green shed sells in a month and ready to plant on the 26th of December ;) Cheers Stuart

16.01.2022 I don't always wear gloves when potting seeds. No messing around with these... Another good reason to label pots...dont want anyone confusing them with a weak little Habenero... ;) The seed propagator is earning it's keep...hapoy with how it's performed. Needs a couple of little upgrades.... Cheers Stu

15.01.2022 New videos are coming out pretty often. Still working on quality. Getting a little better. Cheers Stu https://youtu.be/GF-pIIeNaXE

14.01.2022 Well November storms out the way. Time for 2.2kms of coir twine. I throw it myself takes about 4hrs per kilometer. No working at heights (y) Cheers Stuart

10.01.2022 This is too funny not to share. Our Border Collie found my citrus knife and figured it was a stick to throw...not a stick dog that's a knife... We call him Dingus dog for a reason!! I'm wondering if he's upset about me threatening to get him 'fixed'...yep that's how it works dog... Cheers Stu

07.01.2022 We now have a youtube. Im guessing hops is essential agriculture? I have solar panels coming and being rural have to pick them up. From the LPO. Australia post dont deliver here. Also so many idiots panic filling their SUVs...fuel stations are open tomorrow btw...i needed and couldnt get it for the farm. ... https://youtu.be/a5dzX5GQCqY

04.01.2022 Ran out of racks...made it too big twice...Rose laughed at me and more impressively called the second time it was also too big...6 inches...bloody ell... Anyways Rose and Dad team effort managed to get about 120 pots of cucumbers and tomatoes done. Should be ready for xmas seedlings! ... Cheers Stu

01.01.2022 Not all bad. Soils hit temp now. Things should out grow any issues. Market garden trials are going quote well so far! Potatoes are all quite happy! Corns coming up. Beans, Spring onion and Sweede is ok. Most of the carrots bombed. Will try seed more soon. Maybe just eniugh for xmas lunch for us. ... 16 Tomatoes and counting. Im using what i know works and trialling some others. Mainly Russian Reds that just seem to like our soil and conditions. Of my last years cold climate trials. Nice large truss type tomatoes that can handle the occasional cold nights for a week or 3...
