24.01.2022 Now those of you who have been paying attention will already know that this is Jeremy. This was the studio version of our profile shoot. He needed a range of headshots / profile portraits for a new website and other secret squirrel things, and I absolutely loved working with him to achieve these looks. His location shot is probably my favourite, but these add diversity to the inevitable demands for profile shots that will be required in his work.

24.01.2022 Ooooh it's that SALA time guys! How absolutely gorgeous are these pieces by local ceramic artist Lis Prosser?! I just love these - the colours, the details, the shape and size, the set. These were fun to shoot in my brand new product studio at @cogcreativespace - and it's so so nice to hang out with beautiful and inspiring objects when the human world is such a tricky place. If anyone knows any local artists who need their work documented, please let them know I'm waiting for more gorgeousness to capture in the studio! These were shot for the #cityofunley who supported their local artists by offering the opportunity for them to get their work documented as part of their online exhibition of local works - how fantastic is that?!

24.01.2022 I've just finished editing these headshots and thought I'd share this screenshot. Can we play a guessing game? These lovely people are from a company in Adelaide (with an interstate office as well). Just for a bit of fun, wanna have a guess what they do?

23.01.2022 This is Cam - he is a lawyer in digital entertainment and media. "We spend most of our time working with people who live and breathe pixels and data. We offer practical business solutions and legal advice for creative companies who work in the digital space". Cam needed fresh new headshots for his new website and LinkedIn etc - it was brilliant to catch up with him in the studio - we worked together years ago (decades maybe?) when he was at the SA Film Corporation and it was amazing to catch up again after all these years. We have both maintained our work in the screen industry but somehow managed to not cross paths again until now. I love getting a chance to spend quality time with quality people like this!

21.01.2022 Alexis is an actor who has totally hit the ground running after graduating a couple of years ago. The fact that he comes in for updated headshots every year is testament to how seriously he takes his career and how perfectly he understands how crucial these shots are for casting. He is an intelligent, genuine and charming guy and I love working with him. I'm liking these in B&W too, just for the fun of it!

18.01.2022 This is Luke, an aspiring actor who had the sense to come in to get his headshots before applying to enrol in formal tertiary training. These headshot sessions are actually a solid training ground in how to handle a studio environment and how to engage confidently with the camera - essential skills for any performer. Luke did such an amazing job in his session and we all need to keep our fingers and toes crossed for him as he begins his application process for the first big step on his career dream pathway!

18.01.2022 Which background? Funky or classic? I absolutely love the tones and colours of the green and brown backdrops but there's something timeless and simple about the plain white...hmmmm. Anyway meet Berny - vivacious and fun and awesome!

17.01.2022 Hamish is back from the U.S, hanging in Adelaide during Covid and using this time to get things cracking back home. This young man is awesome - he brought in some of his fave finds from his 'thrifting' expeditions and we explored a few different looks for his folio. What a dude - a seriously great guy looking forward to exciting times ahead...

14.01.2022 Look at this gorgeous drippiness! This piece is by local artist Timothy Bromley, captured for the City of Unley's SALA support & showcase package.

13.01.2022 Would you believe that I searched for quite a while to find this lovely location for Jeremy's portrait. The brief was a natural environment, preferably native. I looked in the Adelaide parklands near my studio and couldn't find the right vibe. In the end I had to drag him all the way out to the hills on this sweet dirt road next to a very smelly farm (goats I think). He cut quite the figure in his suit in this environment. This was so much fun and in the end, despite the lure of working with natural light, I lit this with a single Godox AD600 in a very large softbox, which I needed because it was a bright sunny day and he was backlit. Anyway, that's the story behind this simple profile picture.. :)

13.01.2022 It's great to see some of the stills I shot on this lovely feature film getting an outing at the recent #adelaidefilmfestival. This film has such a wonderful cast and it was an amazing treat to be at the recent Premiere and fabulous after-party. Extra special to catch up with the young lead 'Savino' (Michael Crisafulli) who was just a boy when we shot the film a few years ago, and is now a lovely young man. Congratulations to the team for pulling the film together to be celebrated during the festival - and aren't we ever so lucky to have had a film festival at all in 2020! Well done to the producers Anna, Hilton, Timothy, Stewart, Anna & Louise! (these are screen shots from the film festival web page, but I hope to show some more stills soon).

13.01.2022 So lovely that the Adelaide East Herald and Adelaide Hills Herald shared this sweet story about my wet plate photography work :)

11.01.2022 Alex is an incredibly smart and lovely professional working in Digital Transformation. She has been nominated (and shortlisted) for an award and needed a new headshot to celebrate! Alex is an absolute dynamo and we had a lot of fun in this session - it helps that we have been friends for ever, with connections through the film industry for such a long time. I cannot tell you what a treat it was to work with this exceptional human in the studio :)xx

11.01.2022 I spent some time with the arboriculture team at the City of Unley, following them on their urban 'greenification' path as they planted trees along the streets and in the local parks. These images are to illustrate the work that these guys do to enhance the local area and maintain and manage one of the things that gives Unley it's reputation as one of Adelaide's finest leafy suburbs. These guys were hugely generous in engaging with the camera in order to capture what they do - absolute legends!

08.01.2022 It's pretty nice to hang out in the new product studio at @cogcreativespace with these bottles of collectable Japanese whisky for The Whisky Taylor. The easy part is taking the pictures. The hard part is wanting to try them all and not being able to! #betterstartsaving - - #whisky #japanesewhisky #productphotography #adelaideproductphotographer #wishicould #adelaideproductphotographystudio #studiohireadelaide #adelaidestudiohire #producttable #bottleshots #alcohol

06.01.2022 The incredible Alexandra - honestly, every time she graces my studio I know I'm in for a really fun and relaxed shoot, and some fab results. Her agent says you can't take a bad picture of her and it's true! She is an absolute professional, and the loveliest of humans! Hair & makeup by the excellent Sue Taylor.

06.01.2022 This guy...:) Christopher is a local actor and we have crossed paths many times on set and around town, so it was brilliant to get him back in the studio for some updated headshots. I think our last studio shoot together was over 10 years ago? Anyway, so much fun and it was excellent to hang out with him. Time are tough for actors, as they are for many creatives, and it's amazing to see actors getting sh*t done in the down time, despite the conditions out there; getting themselves on the front foot as the industry picks itself up. Yes! Let's do this Australia - Chris is awesome and ready for a lead role...just putting it out there.

05.01.2022 Meet Narelle - she is a super busy Surgical Device Sales & Clinical Support professional in the medical industry, and dropped in to the studio to get her corporate headshots done. She was just wonderful to work with - and I think you would agree that you can see here just how friendly, approachable, professional and interesting she looks. How I love my job! :)

05.01.2022 When was the last time you got a ride in a garbage truck? Well I can't say it's dull doing these truck shoots for Isuzu. East Waste has a new fleet of the most high-tech trucks I've seen in a while. Did you know that if you forget to put your bins out, they take a photo from one of the multitude of cameras on the truck, and it automatically gets logged in at East Waste HQ. So don't try that stunt - they get lots of calls from irate residents who say their rubbish hasn't been ...collected when in fact they forgot to put the bins out at all! These trucks see it all. They can also see when you put the wrong stuff in the wrong bin - a photo is taken of your rubbish as it goes in to the chute, and you can get in trouble if you contaminate the waste collection. So how about that. I also learned that there's an historic swing bridge (suspension footbridge) in Oakbank. See more

03.01.2022 Anatomy of a Suicide (by Alice Birch), Flinders Drama Centre - production photos. Brilliant work by these wonderful actors; I am a massive fan of each and every one of them. As usual, the staging was incredible and I really enjoyed the lighting by @cpetridislxd. Stunning work by these local creatives. Graduating class of 2020:: Aarod Vawser, Ren Williams, Melissa Pullinger, Christian Barlett, Georgia Laity, Julia Vosnakis & Isabel Vanhakartano. You guys rock, I absolutely lov...e your work. Director :: David Mealor Set / Costume Design :: Kathryn Sproul Lighting / Video Design :: Chris Petridis Composition / Sound Design :: Quincy Grant Movement Direction :: Jo Stone Stage Mangement :: Stephen Moylan

03.01.2022 This is a lovely Amy. She's in the process of developing a new website for her accounting practice and dropped in for some fresh new headshots so that her clients can put a face to the name. She also opted for the new classic look hair & makeup by the lovely Sue Taylor, and that was fun - it's a lovely way to ease in to the shoot knowing you look fabulously natural and effortless, especially if you're not used to wearing makeup!

01.01.2022 Chantale is an executive who needed a headshot for an annual report - she dropped in recently and opted in for a classic-look pampering by Sue Taylor who did a beautiful job with her hair and makeup - natural and effortless. Chantale was brilliant to work with, super professional and lots of fun; she made my job so easy - and Sue was amazing on set to help manage those beautiful locks. I'm not sure which shot will end up in the Annual Report but #1 is my fave because of her genuine smile and warmth. #2 is more corporate I guess, and comes across as professional and organised but still approachable. I love the nuances of expression and tone and how much they impact the feeling of the images!

01.01.2022 Aarod is one of the incredible and wonderful graduates at Flinders Drama Centre and I'm just about to head off to shoot their graduating show and I CANNOT WAIT to see him perform. We had such a fun shoot for his headshots, and you can see here how lovely and engaging and interesting he is. I will report back on how the show goes but I just wanted to share these before heading out - I love Aarod's headshots and hopefully you get a glimpse here into his awesomeness...

01.01.2022 Have you guys seen these amazing new artworks on King William Rd? It was such a fun challenge to try to capture them as site-specific public artworks - the City of Unley has done such an amazing job with this incredible work, not to mention the brilliant artists inolved. TECTONIC 1, 2 & 3 King William Road, Public Artwork, Unley SA, 2020... A collaboration by Quentin Gore, Gregg Mitchell and Amy Joy Watson. Responding to the written text: ‘Unbuilding our Home’ from a book titled ‘The World without us’ by Alan Weisman, Gregg Mitchell, Quentin Gore and Amy Joy Watson explore what the world without us may look like through their individual but linked sculptural works. The artists consider the built environment we live in and place it in the context of the natural world; a subject that will only become more relevant with time. Timeless and elemental materials, granite and steel which feature in each work, remind us of our place in time and our fragile relationship with planet earth. With elegance, whimsy and subtlety the works speak of our inherent connection to nature, time and by association, the site of King William Road. 1. Tectonic 1 - Quentin Gore Black Granite, Stainless Steel 2. Tectonic 2 - Gregg Mitchell Black Granite, Painted Steel 350cm x 110cm x 110cm 3. Tectonic 3 - Amy Joy Watson Black Granite, Painted Aluminium. #artwork #visualart #adelaidevisualart #documentingartwork #artworkphotography #adelaideartworkphotographer #publicart #cityofunley #sculpture #streetart
