23.01.2022 Project installation completed - Day 3

23.01.2022 Not just a Christmas present for the men in your life https://www.amightygirl.com/blog

22.01.2022 We will be moving the simulator to a new home between 12th June and 4th July and are unable to take bookings in this period, We will still be in the Hobart CBD and the new premise is a little larger which means we are taking advantage of this opportunity to upgrade the visuals system to a 200 degree curved screen with the images generated by 3 high definition projectors.

22.01.2022 Final testing day before we getunderway tomorrow - the calm before the storm.

21.01.2022 A bit of fun flying in New Zealand this weekend. Autopilot off for this approach into Hamilton. https://youtu.be/I3noGtQ8wsk

18.01.2022 Mark W during "Milk Run" Monday - online with the VATSIM network

17.01.2022 My girls have decided if you cant beat them, join them - and have taken to making bookings in my diary for lessons - now if only I could get them to actually pay :) On a serious note, we are asking ourselves why women are significantly under-represented in our customer mix so maybe this is the beginning of a new era.

17.01.2022 Moving a Boeing 737-800 is seriously hard work. Day 2 of 7 of the move to our new home!

17.01.2022 Jack and his awesome first officer doing a touch and go into Sydney, Runway 16R https://youtu.be/2MDkrmEtEGU

17.01.2022 Finally I am remembering to ask visitors to the Simulator to rate us on Trip Advisor. If you have visited us and enjoyed the experience (or even if there were things you did not enjoy) we would love to hear from you and have you share your thoughts with others. Thanks to Paul who visited yesterday and gave us a glowing recommendation. http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Attraction_Review-g255097-d72

16.01.2022 We are now more than half way on our journey around the world. Follow our progress, including a live stream from the flight deck at http://wfsim737.veeoz-virtual.com/

16.01.2022 How do we spend Fathers Day? We drag the whole family into the Sim for a photo shoot of course! Not only the family, but a bunch of friends as well who were kind enough to donate their time. Most people had never flown the Sim before and it was pretty cool watching them figure it all out with not much instruction. Big thanks to my friend Andy for giving up almost the entire day to get us some great shots.

14.01.2022 It has been a while since posting anything, but had a bit of fun with a visual approach into Tamworth on the VATSIM network tonight. https://youtu.be/FLM8nwU-hLA

13.01.2022 And Michael flying in Hong Kong. Far from the easiest of approaches!

11.01.2022 WF2016 has been amazing with regard to the monies raised for various charities around the world. I have summarised the TOTAL money raised by all teamns in each... currency as follows. AUD102,370 EUR70,860 USD75,130 GBP60,800 A fantastic result guys and congratulations to all teams.

11.01.2022 images warped and blended, looking good :) https://youtu.be/bIEQkssoV0g

10.01.2022 Enjoyed a great day trip to Mooloolaba to visit a new 737 simulator just opened at SunJet Simulations. Pat has set up an awesome shop and the curved screen visuals are sensational!

10.01.2022 It has been a while between posts but our relocation to Level 2, 24 Murray Street is finally complete and the simulator is 100% back online. The new visual system is up and running (thanks NatVIS Simulator Displays) and looking great.

10.01.2022 The simulator will be unavailable from Friday October 30 through to Monday November 9 as we are participating in World Flight 2015. This is a fund raising event (for the Royal Flying Doctors) where simulators like ours operate 24 hours a day for a full week flying around the globe. We have a crew of 12 people organised for the week and are looking forward to the challenge. More information on WorldFlight can be found at http://worldflight.com.au or follow us directly at http://worldflight.sim737.com.au or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/worldflighthobart

10.01.2022 We have been quiet for a while but the Sim is still going well. The current project is to replace the flight controls (Yokes) with real ones from an actual Boeing 737. This is a major undertaking in both time and money but we hope to have something installed in the next 3 to 4 months. In the meantime, if there is any Hobart based enthusiast who would like to do some work on the simulator in exchange for some flying time we are looking for someone with good PC skills as well as experience installing and configuring FSX/Prepar3D. The main job is to install SSD drives into 6 computers and then install and configure Prepar3D to run in a networked environment using Wideview. If this sounds like you, shoot an email to [email protected] with some details.

09.01.2022 Having a bit of fun flying the Paro Approach into Bhutan. Look out for the mountains and keep seatbelts on for the landing!

09.01.2022 Yet another of the "under 15" brigade getting his first taste of the Simulator. This time we have Michael departing Wellington NZ bound for Christchurch. Nice work! :)

09.01.2022 Just a quick note we will be closed this Friday through Sunday (26th - 28th June).

08.01.2022 Not a video for the faint hearted as it is a bit heavy on the detail, but we have been doing some work on our multi-crew procedures including the full start-up procedure. The taxi and take-off is around the 14 minute mark. This is a leg from Adelaide to Melbourne and we picked up VATSIM ATC during the cruise phase. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXH9LhUQCIs

08.01.2022 Give dad an experience he wont forget this Fathers Day

08.01.2022 For the purists, we have been doing more work on "cold and dark" mode in the Sim, with all backlighting and LED lighting now operated via the Sim power system. We have also fitted an ACARS printer (shout out to Gwyn at Aerosim Solutions Perth) and have dimmable Map Lighting in the First Officer eyebrow (Captain side coming soon).

07.01.2022 Day 1 of the visuals upgrade. Not a great deal to show as yet but the screen is up and looks awesome.

07.01.2022 For anyone interested into taking their simulation up a notch, here is a small video grab from the regular Monday night Milk Run event conducted on the VATSIM network. This was departing Melbourne last night around 5:30pm with some nasty weather about. https://youtu.be/uQ4wAzeeHdU

06.01.2022 Some more footage from Sams visit - this time flying the departure out of Niue during the VATSIM NZ "Island Hopping" Sunday Night event - 7th June 2015

05.01.2022 An approach into Cairns during a busy sector 1 for World Flight 2018. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4W6sgTwkrs

03.01.2022 Slow going, but we have started the rebuild phase at the new site. The floor is down and now waiting for the new visual system to go in next week. Once that is done we can start putting the main simulator back together.

03.01.2022 World flight 2015 is done and dusted and I am pleased to say our team of 12 successfully completed all 45 legs and flew non-stop (1 hour turnarounds between flights) more than 38,000 miles in real time over the last 7 days. The Australian based full size simulators raised more than $30,000 for the Royal Flying Doctors.

03.01.2022 Please note due to some issues with our relocation to the new address we have had to change our public phone number from 03 62318241 to 03 62231541. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

02.01.2022 We are off and running for World Flight 2016. This is an annual fundraiser where full size simulators fly around the world for 7 days raising money for charities. Our charity is again the Royal Flying Doctors. We are currently enroute for the 1st leg of the week from Sydney to Queenstown New Zealand. You can follow our progress and Live Stream at http://worldflight.sim737.com.au

01.01.2022 This Christmas hitch a ride to SIM737 and gift a Boeing 737 flight simulator experience.
