09.01.2022 Our friends at Tamminya House recently let us know how our donated linen is helping them to help others. The team provide short term emergency housing to families facing a crisis and we are humbled to be able to assist them in their incredibly important work. Volunteer Glenda shared how Simba linen is being used at their emergency accommodation facilities and that Tamminya House’s manager was really happy to say that once a resident is back on their feet and they have found ...independent accommodation, she has been gifting them a Simba doona or blanket so that they have something lovely and new to start afresh. The team are also supported via their Opportunity Shop in Upper Ferntree Gully, Melbourne, pictured below. #ValuesInAction #GivingBack

05.01.2022 Earlier this year, Simba donated $5000 to Cabrini HEALTH to create the Simba Global Midwifery Scholarship, awarded under their Cabrini Nursing and Midwifery Society. $4000 was used to sponsor a trip to remote villages in Myanmar for Cabrini midwife, Lynne Stewart. Here, she was able to do incredible work teaching lifesaving midwifery skills to local healthcare workers. This included teaching birthing and resuscitation skills, the use of the misoprostol drug to treat postpar...tum haemorrhage, as well as distributing supplies to mothers and children. The other $1000 was used to send Cabrini midwife, Jennifer Lomdahl, for an internationally recognised course in lactation, covering areas such as nutritional information and diagnosis of issues. She can now share this valuable knowledge with both new mothers and other midwives at Cabrini. A huge congratulations to the scholarship recipients for the amazing work they have done we were so happy to hear about your wonderful experiences! 01.01.2022 Earlier this month, Simba donated 500 bath mats and 100 bath towels to RSPCA Victoria for use in their Burwood shelter. We were so happy to find out that the donation came at the perfect time with towel donations low recently due to COVID lockdown restrictions. The lovely team at RSPCA sent us these adorable photos of the animals cuddling up to the towels. Seeing the animals enjoying their new bedding put a big smile on our team’s faces! A big thank you to the wonderful RSPCA team for sending us these photos, a certificate of appreciation, and for all the incredible work they do to look after and protect the animals in our community!
