19.01.2022 Vale Simeon Saada 1990-2020 (Asfour x Simeon Safanad)... On a crisp morning of September 1990 a beautiful filly was born. She was the result of a combination of genetics from two of Simeon Studs most treasured horses, the legendary Asfour and farm matriarch Simeon Safanad. Simeon Saada was a full sibling to Simeon Stav, Simeon Salome, Simeon Sadik (exp GB), Simeon Shaina, Simeon Safir (exp EG), Simeon Shakaf and Simeon Silla (exp SA), most of which have gained australian and world championships and created dynastys of their own. Saada with her big black eyes and classical Arabian beauty was no exception to this. Although unshown, she went on to follow in her mothers hoof prints and become one of Simeon Studs most treasured mares. She had 12 foals over her lifetime, the first four were exported, while the others became successful producers here in Australia. Saada was an accomplished broodmare for Simeon Stud with her progeny having an impact all over the world. She was also the 2020 WAHO trophy recipient. Saadas dynasty here at Simeon Stud will continue for many years to come through her daughter Simeon Saadia (Imperial Madaar), granddaughter Simeon Shafiyah (Simeon Shifran x Simeon Sepharad) and son Simeon Samech (Anaza Bay Shah), with 3 of his exceptional young daughters retained by Simeon Stud. For the third time in the decade Simeon Stud would claim the senior mare title, this time with Simeon Savion Imp DE {Ansata Abbas Pasha x Novina). Marion recalls, "Simeon Savion was my riding horse. Her father was an amazing stallion and I wanted a foal by him from one of my Russian mares, but he was not at stud. I had instigated for the stallion to go to Europe, and I arranged with the owner that if I could put my mare in foal, if a colt it would be his, and a filly it would be mine - and either way I had to pay the stud fee! 03.01.2022 FLASHBACK; 1985 saw 3 international judges adjudicate the halter classes at the Australian Arabian National Championships, N. Backhouse, I. Ratcliffe, M. Pitt R...ivers all from the United Kingdom. The senior mare title would again be awarded to one of Simeon Studs imported beauties, this time Damirah {Hadban Enzahi x Hamdi} imp DE. Interestingly too, she was in foal at the time, carrying Simeon Shari who would later go on to win her own Australian Champion Mare title. As well as being a successful show mare, Damirah was also a prolific broodmare being dam of 13 registered progeny including the very well known El Shaklan son, Simeon Sa'ar (GB). Marion recalls: "Damirah, unlike her paddock mate Galal, loved an audience, and she loved showing. She was a very powerful mare when moving, and very beautiful. We won many championships with Damirah, and each time she went out she would have her ears pricked, nostrils flared and tail up...she was ready to go!" See more

01.01.2022 FLASHBACK: 1982 for many of us on the land, will be remembered for one of the most crippling droughts on record in Eastern states of Australia. But for those w...ith Arabians, it was also the birth year of our Australian Arabian National Championships. It seems very fitting that the inaugural prized title of Australian Champion Arabian Mare, would go to one of most recognized Arabian Studs, both then and now, in Simeon Stud. Winner of our very first mare title was the beautiful 27 Ibn Galal (imp Hu). Marion Richmond reflects; The first time we saw Galal she was pulling a dray at Babolna. When she came to Australia I used to ride her on fire trails for hours. She did not really enjoy being shown, however she was good at it and she produced horses who continued to win.
