09.01.2022 Yesterday, for inspiration, I dropped into the Manly Art Gallery who are jointly hosting the Destination Sydney exhibition along with the SH Ervin and Mosman Art Galleries. The Manly contribution consists of some fabulous works by Elisabeth Cummings, Brett Whitely and Lloyd Rees. I particularly loved the Cummings works that I had not had a chance to see before. 05.01.2022 My friend Sally Sydney first posted this. Traditionally the practice of copying good paintings has been an invaluable tool for the creation of one's technique. This is a lovely example of really good copying showing the use of underpainting and glazing with dark to light pigments. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php
