25.01.2022 We’re still here! Unfortunately 2020 hasn’t been a great start for us. Simon’s Mum is extremely unwell with terminal cancer. Just wanted to let you all know we haven’t left town and Simon is still working. ... At this point in time, he has a couple of weeks available end of March beginning April, so if you have a quote you’d like to take up, let us know ASAP so we can lock you in!

25.01.2022 All this downtime means our bathroom is making some headway. Yay! Simon has promised there will be an operational bath in place by the end of the month. If not, he needs to run fast. Very, very fast

20.01.2022 Howdy folks. For anyone wanting to book in work for this year with Simon, he only has 3 weeks in Aug, 4 weeks in Nov and 3 weeks Dec available. So please let us know as soon as possible if you're sitting on a quote and want to go ahead. Otherwise, we can re-quote for next year. Here's the man putting in this GORGEOUS front door. 19.01.2022 Stage 2 of complete house renovation has started. This side of the house will have the top half taken away by house Removalists and the bottom section will be demolished. Busy! Busy! Busy!

16.01.2022 Simon is back! Hooray! It’s been a crazy and emotional couple of months for us, on top of which, he’s been working away. Back now and straight into a bathroom reno tomorrow. 13.01.2022 Bathroom and man cave are finally complete.

10.01.2022 Rotten deck? Wobbly deck? Missing or sagging balustrade? This deck is a fair age and 2/3 of it is out in the weather. So it cops full sun and rain. You can see where large pot plants have sat and been watered over time, with the water run off sitting on the Merbau deck boards causing rot damage. The joists weren’t coated or painted at the time of construction which has led to some rot in those as well. ... Simon is removing old, damaged timber, installing new joists and new Ecodek deck boards. We are loving the low maintenance and hard wearing properties of Ecodek and the fact that it comes with a 25 year manufacturers warranty covering rot, splitting, splinters, termite damage & fungal decay.

EDIT: We've had a few people asking about the government grant and how it works. It’s a grant given by the government to anyone who has a building contract in place for renovations/ extension or new home build, before the end of December. The amount of the contract has to be at least $125,000. The government will then give the homeowner an additional $25,000 to use toward their build.

02.01.2022 What does a renovations builder do when he’s on holidays? Why.... he renovates of course! This is our own home. It’s an ongoing project and has been for the past 4 years. It’s a total rebuild with us living in it, so there’s planning and strategy involved with what happens when. We also have to deal with budget and timing restraints like everyone else. So to wrap up the year I thought I would share our current reno stage with you. ... Happy New Year and lets make 2020 the year to get projects finished!
