24.01.2022 Why is it so expensive to service shocks? A shock service is more than just draining out the oil and pouring in some new oil. A proper service involves stripp...ing the shock down to clean and inspect all parts for condition. As the shock is reassembled the o-rings and seals get replaced, the shaft gets linished and checked for straightness and chrome condition. Then the shock is vacuum bled(air in the fluid is the enemy)with high quality fluid and finally charged with nitrogen. This can easily be a few hours of work each shock and over 2 litres of fluid in some SxS shocks. The end result is a shock that is back to new condition and performing the way it should. Shocks are expensive and cutting corners on servicing doesn’t pay off... you won’t be getting 100% performance in the short term and in the long term you risk expensive damage. #quadsquadperformance #suspensionservicing
