Pyeong Chang 2018 saw Simon become the first Australian to win a Paralympic Winter Games gold medal since 2002, the first Australian man to win a medal ath the Paralympic Summer and Winter Games and the first Australian to win a gold medal in Para-snowboard at the Paralympic Games. 16.01.2022 I had great time racing in the seasons first Snowboard-Cross event in Tahoe. 3rd in the North America Cup and 5th in the World Cup. The team is now off to Canada for the 2017 IPC World Championships at Big White.

Since making hi...story and claiming a gold and bronze medal at the Winter Paralympics in Pyeong Chang, Simons played a massive role in giving back to the community; making numerous school and hospital visits, participating in a JuicedTV episode and attending charity events such as the Legends for Lifeline gala as a guest speaker. Simon has also been the recipient of numerous high-profile sporting awards, including; Ski & Snowboard Australia 2018 Athlete of the Year (Paralympic discipline) and the Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association Open Athlete of the Year Award. 09.01.2022 Recently North West Private Hospital helped para-snowboard gold medalist, Simon Patmore, share his inspirational story with hundreds of school children in our l...ocal community. Simon visited three local schools to talk about leadership and resilience with students in grades six and 11. Born with Erbs palsy, causing nerve damage in his left arm, Simon has overcome adversity and accomplished many achievements in his sporting career including breaking records and making history in Australia. Simon was crowned Snowboard-Cross Champion and broke a 16-year gold medal drought for Australia at the 2018 Pyeong Chang Paralympic Winter Games.
