10.01.2022 As the week comes to a close I have been so encouraged even to tears by so many of you who have shared genuine love and concern for what Timo and I are going through - sure there have been a few customers who have been really difficult but they are a minority. No names but thank you to those who helped us with food parcels, take away meals and time together, a loan to get us through these times or told us not to pay back our income on cancellations, lovely emails and picking up the phone to check-in on us. The overwhelming message is that you want us around in future to help you make your travel dreams come through. If we can we will

10.01.2022 We’ve been getting a lot of lovely messages asking how we are going which is very kind. Glad to report that we both have found jobs which makes us fortunate co...nsidering the many thousands from the travel industry who lost their jobs. In some respects we are better off as we have jobs but in other respects we are worse off as we continue to operate our travel business after hours and on weekends. Our days start before 5am with us going to the gym which we love then to work from 8am - 5pm which is interesting. After that the undiluted pain of working on cancellations and credits for customers where we pay back our income earned which can be more than we earn in our new jobs. Refunds from suppliers, especially airlines, take many many months which is exasperating. We drew money out of our super for this and paid ourselves no super for last year. That being said we did not want to leave our customers stranded. During this time we have been touched by the love shown by customers and friends and family. Sadly we found Travel Managers lacking in empathy but they are primarily a business doing it tough. Here is the good news - we have each other and we are in good health. Our new life means we rarely have time to socialise and often not even time to chat on Facebook. So if any of you have read this far we send our love but apologise that we will rarely be in touch and this will be the case for the next year at least. See more
