18.05.2022 UPDATE: 4 day Clinic Station Horse Adventure has been postponed. With the recent rainfall the access road into Allambie is non trafficable for heavy vehicles and floats (even 4x4 currently). We are a little cut off from the world and that's all part of this wonderful experience!!!... We won't knock the rain as it always welcome, we will just postpone the event. Likely date but will confirm ASAP - 23rd April - 26th April. One thing is for sure you will certainly enjoy some water features and green hills.

09.05.2022 I stood behind you in line today at the local feed store. I bit my tongue as you talked rudely about your farrier, complaining to your friend about the cost of ...your shoeing bill and declaring, without shame, "I mean, how hard can it BE? He's only there for an hour." My friend, let me tell you what you do not see - You do not see the mornings that begin at 6 a.m. and the nights that end at 11 p.m. You do not see your farrier performing his juggling act while he shoes, returns voicemails and text messages, and answers "emergency calls" for pulled shoes on Friday nights when he'd rather be at home with his family. On Sunday mornings when he'd rather be in church. You do not see the checks written to the shoeing supply house, the receipts for the fuel that gets him from your place to the next one, or the maintenance bills that keep his shoeing rig running down the road. You do not see the books he studies, the workshops he attends or teaches, or the seriousness with which he takes the art and skill of his profession. You do not hear him making late night calls to the vet and to other horseshoers that he respects as they put their heads together to come up with the best solution to make the horse comfortable enough to stay on his feet - to stay alive. My friend, you do not see the burn marks on his hands and arms from the hours he spends in the forge learning to make your shoes; always preparing to help you the next time your horse comes up lame, is diagnosed with navicular, or founders for the umpteenth time (even though he's warned you to pull that pony off the pasture). He must be prepared for anything you throw at him, and he takes this responsibility to his heart. You do not see the bumps, bruises, scuffs and injuries that he collects on a daily basis from young, naughty, impatient and flighty horses. He doesn't complain about them. He just keeps on keepin' on. They are part of the job, and he accepts this without complaint, just as he accepts your ingratitude. So, my friend, I implore you - the next time you think about opening your mouth to insult your farrier, spend a day in his shoes,

08.04.2022 It's a beautiful thing when your work is what you love. I love riding horses and that's what I want to do more of in my life. Even if the past 2 days have calc...ulated double digit hours in the saddle putting heifers back together after the flooding creeks have taken the floodgates out. Still 6 short so the riding goes on. Sore assed (me), stiff (horses), foot sore dogs and 1 pup ( what an introduction to work for Blondie), because it's all been hilly country riding, believe me it takes its toll on people, horses and dogs. The thing that really makes me ponder is why do I love doing it and do my team mates love it? My love of the land My love of the animals, horses, dogs and cattle. I believe respect is love as well I respect my horses and dogs and without my team I can achieve nothing in my work, zip, nadda..... I have so much respect and admiration for these 2 counterparts of mine in my work. I honour them in their work ethic to turn up every day I ask something of them. They give 100% in fatigue, exhaustion and commitment to their job. They swam creeks to get stock out for me They carried me for hours when they were tired too. They did the arguing with stubborn heifers when I could not. They made my life easier for the extra miles they ran. They make me acknowledge what tenacity, resilience and toughness really is. They make my life so much easier. They wouldn't do it if they didn't love what they do. They could come home anytime they like if they wanted to. But they don't. They give me an awesome ride and are always there backing me up. They have the same work ethic, constitution, toughness and resilience as I do or maybe I have the same as them. My gratitude and thanks goes out the these incredible 4 legged 'legends' who help make my work and day be a blessing in my life.. I am very lucky Who do you need to thank, person or animal, that contributes massively to your life on a daily basis and you couldn't do without? Show me your pictures and tell me why.
