In fact, there is much research now showing that music can have a big impact on our pet's lives, influencing how they feel, and doing wonders for anxious or excited pets as well. Does your dog have a favourite song? Comment below what gets them singing along or their tail wagging

24.01.2022 Say hello to beautiful border collie Mackey! Only 7 months old yet his manners are coming along beautifully. Mackey and his family had a great training session, helping him to be calm and not round up exciting things like cars going past the front gate, as well as learning to be still and enjoy grooming to keep him looking his most handsome. Like this post if you think Mackey is a good boy (we certainly do!)

23.01.2022 A problem we often hear about is when a dog breaks a common household rule, such as 'Don't knock over the rubbish bin' when their owners are away, baffling the owner who insists that they 'knew it was wrong'. This is because dogs don't learn things in terms of "Right" and "Wrong", but as "Safe" and "Unsafe". A dog that appears to break a rule they knew was wrong has learned that breaking the rule is dangerous is front of humans (I’ll get in trouble if they see me knocking t...he bin over) but safe when they’re alone (I can knock the bin over when my humans are out, and I don’t get in trouble). Teaching our dogs using rewards and modern training techniques ensures they don't view unwanted behaviours with opportunities of 'safe' and 'unsafe' windows, but instead has them wanting to do the behaviours we like regardless if someone is watching them or not. Comment below if your dog has done something you thought they knew was wrong, or if you are interested in having a dog that is excited to do the things we want and leave that bin alone even when you are out See more

22.01.2022 Oh my goodness, cuteness overload! Say hello to 9 week old Ruby the Cavoodle who is all tuckered out after a big day learning the best way to play with her parents (without her teeth), that outside is the best place to 'go potty', and to be calm and not worry when left alone on work days Give Ruby some big love to help her start off on the right paw on her training journey

16.01.2022 What does your dog do when they get a treat? Tell me in the comments below One of the greatest secrets to incredible dog training results is something called a Marker Word. This word, often just "Yes!" communicates with our dogs exactly what we want them to do, pinpointing the behaviours they should keep doing in the future. How? Through pairing something they like (such as a treat), with this word many times over, a link between good things and our Marker Word is form...ed (just like Pavlov and his dogs). This means that when you say "Yes!" they know whatever they were doing when they heard this sound is why they are getting a treat, and are then much more likely to do that behaviour again. - This gives you an incredible tool for communication - dogs thrive when given something to do, and you can now tell them exactly the behaviours that you like. - Training using a marker word is faster, easier and more fun as you can pinpoint specific moments and behaviours, helping your dog have fun and master their skills with incredible speed. - It promotes learning, as they must use their wonderful brain to figure out what behaviours work best, creating a dog that is smarter, more confident, and loves to learn. - And it can buy you some time between rewarding a behaviour, and getting that treat, meaning you can use it even outside of training sessions (such as fast-tracking toilet training) So to start training say "Yes!" to your dog, then follow it with a treat. they don't have to be doing anything just hearing the word. Repeat 5/10 times until they look up at you when they hear "Yes!". You are now ready to start rewarding your dog for the behaviours that you like - Happy Training! See more
