24.01.2022 As I sat on the bus this morning my daughter got frustrated with her iPad. It won’t work! At which point I said How can we get it to work then? Followed by... My granny used to say - Can’t, won’t! It’s incredible the phrases that seep into our minds and shape our reality. I believe, the environment we grow up in largely dictates our decision making moment to moment, thus shaping our present and future life.... It’s important to step back, and ask yourself whether the things you say are supporting you, or limiting you. Where did you learn them from? Who did you learn them from and are they successful in the way you want to be? You see, my grandparents were (are and always will be) huge role models to me. My grandpa survived being captured and taken prisoner in a war camp. My granny fought depression. Yet they both had such a positive influence on my life and my mindset in general. Shit happens, but it also opens new doors and new ways to solve problems and create solutions. It’s really all in the way you perceive things. People often ask me how it is I can do most things I put my mind to. I have a simple answer - Can’t, won’t!meaning if you tell yourself you can’t it simply means you won’t. If I ever catch myself saying I can’t. I ask myself why I won’t. And then I work on solving that! What are you telling yourself you can’t do, that you simply won’t do?

19.01.2022 Life isn’t about being perfect. Business isn’t about being perfect. Consistency and determination is about getting back on the saddle when we fall off. Pre-COVID I was super fit. Around the time it hit I got a shoulder injury, and that became my excuse why I couldn’t train. My healthy diet turned to sugar overload. Cooking lots of puddings at home and generally over-indulging.... I believe in balance. Balance in everything. It’s not about no sugar, it’s about low sugar. It’s not about training til we break, it’s about training for focus, clarity and health. There is no doubt about it. Fitness gives me the ability to focus in my business. When my body is strong, my mind is strong. Don’t beat yourself up if you fall off the saddle. Get back up and go again. This session... was hard. I’m starting from the ground up again. But it’s definitely short term pain for long term gain!!

18.01.2022 One of the reasons I don’t feel a strong sense of ‘competition’ as a business consultant, is because I personally believe it’s important to learn from lots of different people. When we learn from people, we pick up the habits of people. It’s important to absorb as many good habits from other successful people as possible! Instead I keep my focus on how many people in the world I can reach and help. If you’re focusing on competition, you’re not focusing on your mission. ... When I trained as a makeup artist 12 years ago, I qualified with a tiny college course and then made it my mission to learn from as many amazing makeup artists, photographers, videographers and creatives as I could. I threw myself into the deep end with free shoots. And once I had a portfolio I started working on paid shoots. Learning this way opened my world up to incredible opportunities and a big network. The director of a free job I’d worked on recommended me for a shoot with the rapper Tinie Tempah (for those who know him). From there I had ‘credibility’ in the industry. That then lead to work with the Backstreet Boys & New Kids on The Block and on and on. There were makeup artists with far more prevalence in the industry - so why me? Networking. Referral. Relationships. Courage to dive in. The point is. Your ‘competitors’ are people to uplift, support and network with. Look to your competitors for inspiration, take note of their good habits and implement them in your own way.

14.01.2022 Current work location. Beach, sun, sea, sand and my phone. Something I dreamt of as a child. It just goes to show, that when we decide something is possible, our mind sets to work showing us all the possible avenues. All we have to do is have the courage to take them!

13.01.2022 There is one leader on this planet we should listen to. One leader who has visited every continent on our planet. One leader who genuinely has our planet’s best interests at heart. David Attenborough. We took our kids to watch his witness statement tonight, and although I’d already begun my journey to make change in wealth inequality. This film changed my future forever. You cannot ignore it once you see it. If you haven’t yet watched it, I urge you to do so.... The biggest shock of all to me... there is a mere 35% of wild left on our planet. If we don’t act now, it is our children, and their children’s children that will suffer the consequence. There are so many changes that can be instantaneously implemented. Reduce carbon footprint. Increase reforestation - start with your garden! Plant wild flowers, bring the birds to your garden with feeders. Decrease meat consumption and increase plant based foods. Recycle. Stop over fishing! I agree with David Attenborough. This is not our planet, humans have simply over run it. We are guests here and we should respect it, and the wild life that were here before us - their natural habitat. The question is - what will YOU do to restore our planet? You may feel like a small needle in a haystack, but I can assure you, one person’s decision to make change can create a ripple effect that can create a lasting, restorative effect on our planet.

There are almost 8 billion people on planet earth. ... There are almost 47 million millionaires on planet earth. There are just over 2600 billionaires on planet earth. Yet global poverty affects approximately 736 million people on planet earth. Approximately 1% of the world’s population own 44% of the worlds wealth... In much the same way we can restore the planet by bringing stability to nature through re-wilding. We can restore stability to the worlds wealth inequality by sharing more of what we have. It is very clear, that very few of that 1% are contributing to acts of philanthropy. Wake up world! Decrease poverty, increase stability and live in a thriving world! Extreme poverty simply shouldn’t need to exist. It’s up to us. Who’s with me?

06.01.2022 Top tip: When you respond to comments / messages or you send comments / messages to your audience or ideal customer, where possible acknowledge the person’s name. Humans love to feel noticed and acknowledged - it’s a fast way to build rapport.
