07.01.2022 Interesting article in Slate, regarding commercial businesses branching out into solar power and becoming net electricity producers rather than consumer. Whilst at first glance these sorts of examples seem relevant only to large organizations, rapid decreases in the cost of solar panels and battery storage (Tesla batteries and others), mean that an ever-increasing number of residential developments are taking energy production into their own hands. From our own experience, we are seeing more and more examples where the cost of connecting to the grid just doesnt stack up financially. Change is definitely upon us centralized power generation is on the way out.
