25.01.2022 I recently reached out to local Indigenous woman Tamika Amos to put together a little something in the lead up to Invasion Day. Throughout my schooling I only ever remember once being told that their was a massacre locally and that’s about it. This year it was my own personal goal to educate myself and share our local history with you all. On Monday night, I met with six local Gunditjmara people at the Convincing Ground. During this time, they shared their stories and histor...y with me and allowed a safe space for me to ask questions. I hope over the following days you learn something new and take your own steps to acknowledging and respecting past history of the land you live on today. The convincing ground is infamously known as Victoria’s first massacre site. It seen the brutal killings of the Kilcarer Gunditj clan and local settlers in the area. The account of what unfolded in this battle is recorded in local settler diaries and also in the ‘Scars in the Landscape’ by Dr Ian Clarke. The battle only saw two survivors form the clan who were later taken in by the Cart Gunditj clan. This is the shared history of colonial Portland. - Chris

25.01.2022 Before the shoot I was a tad nervous but mostly excited to be a part of a group that celebrated bodies and normalised the different shapes that they come in. My main reason for being involved was to be more confident in my own skin as I’ve been in a constant battle with my body for a long time, but especially this year. The session was so relaxed and I felt more comfortable than expected, half nude and running around on the beach. After seeing some sneaky peaks of the photos I already feel more beautiful, empowered and on the road to feeling proud of how I look. Even if you think you can’t do this you CAN! I can’t wait to get another group of friends together and do it all over again! - Caitlin

24.01.2022 When I got asked by a special friend if I wanted to participate in the "Authentically YOU" photo shoot with Eloise, I instantly knew I would be in good hands, no judgement and pure fun! How right I was... The morning was pure bliss and a great opportunity to appreciate my body type and be greatful that I have carried two beautiful babies! No matter the shape or size of any figure it comes down to the sole within. - Lacey

23.01.2022 On the morning of the shoot I was feeling so nervous but as soon as I pulled in the car park i instantly knew it was going to be fine. There was no judgement from any of the ladies there and that’s how everyone should be, proud of the skin we’re in. I have never felt so alive and happy to just be me... - Kayla

22.01.2022 Great little demonstration showing what breastfeeding looks like

22.01.2022 An interesting read on how our society has turned birth into a medical intervention rather than a natural process of womens bodies. We have been conditioned to be scared of birth, to turn to medical interventions and that home birthing is for 'hippies'. I'd love to get your thoughts on what you think? Would you be open to a home birth if it was more 'accepted' in todays modern society? Do you feel 'safer' birthing within a hospital? Do you believe ALL births should occur within a healthcare setting?

17.01.2022 The brain fog is real at the moment. Usually when I’m grounded and really in tune with myself I sit down and write what’s on my mind. I will think of captions to write in advance. I’ll jot down ideas for content. But then I have days where it’s pure fog. Sometimes this comes down to tiredness. Other days I blame my anti-depressants. Instagram to me is more than just pictures. It’s an outlet to express ourselves. To make change. To discuss the things we’re passionate about. ...Social media is certainly a negative space if used incorrectly. I take breaks at times. Unfollow accounts that don’t bring me joy. How do you utilise your social media platforms?

17.01.2022 I’ve always been someone who has cherished photos. I’ve loved that you can have them forever and reminisce on past memories both happy and sad. Being a Nurse and also experiencing death of loved ones over the years, I see how close life and death is. We often take our time on earth for granted and it isn’t until a major event or death occurs that it brings us back to earth and we realise how lucky we are to live another day. So even if getting photos seems so hard, or you have every excuse under the sun why you can’t get photos, just do it. I promise one day, you or someone will appreciate those images

10.01.2022 New blog post | Medical Inductions, how much do you know?

10.01.2022 Hello beautiful people. I’ve sent out an email to all my clients but thought I best touch base here too. As you all know, I live in Melbourne and obviously haven’t been able to leave and catch up on postponed sessions. I spoke with Business Victoria yesterday about what current regulations are in Regional Victoria for Photographers. The strict advice I was given is that no sessions should be performed outside unless clients are wearing a mask. However, they also noted that t...here is possibly some changes happening with this rule in the coming week. I am hoping that in the next 3 weeks, things have settled enough for me to be able to leave Melbourne. If you’ve got a postponed session, I will be getting in touch as soon as I know more. For all of the upcoming Mini Sessions, I think I’m going to have to juggle things around, but will also let you know of any changes. I also wanted to touch on refunds and cancellation of sessions. If there’s anyone that no longer wants to proceed with their booked session, please reach out and I can organise your refund. Usually I have a policy around this but due to COVID and all of the unknown currently, I understand. If there’s anyone who is hoping to book in for a session, touch base with me and I’ll pop you on my waitlist. I’m so excited to be back photographing your beautiful families and to get out of Suburbia for a bit. I’m also very excited to let you guys in on a little secret... My Doula Course will be completed very very veryyyy soon! If you’re pregnant and wanting to know more, reach out and you can be the first to know about what services I’ll be offering.. I might even offer you a sneaky discount. Thank you to every single one of you who have continued to support me and my business. I hope those in Regional Victoria have been enjoying a bit of freedom, and to all my Melbourne Metro friends... WE’RE SO FRICKEN CLOSE Lots of love, Eloise Xx

10.01.2022 If I had have been asked to do this shoot a few years ago I would have ran the other way, but my mindset towards my body and others bodies has changed so much over the years and i’m so glad i was given this opportunity. This was such a fun way to celebrate the body we’ve been gifted with some incredible women of different shapes and sizes, all beautiful in every way. Dancing and playing on the beach with the lovely ladies was a reminder of how amazing women are and how thankful we should be of the body in which we are lucky to have. It was beautiful to witness how empowered and confident we felt after the shoot and I feel as though everyone should give this a try, such a magical morning. Eloise is so talented and wonderful at making everyone feel comfortable and happy, she’s such a beautiful soul. - Tovi

09.01.2022 To all of my clients who have been postponed or are on my waiting list, I can’t thank you all enough for being patient and waiting for me to be able to get out of Melbourne and start sessions again. You don’t understand how much I appreciate you supporting my business However, in regional Victoria, photographers still aren’t allowed to do sessions with clients unless the client wears a mask. I’d love if you could support myself and other photographers by signing the petition below http://chng.it/s7B8JPHkcj

07.01.2022 Feeling so connected to the ocean at the moment. The sound of the waves crashing, the smell of the water and the sand on my feet is everything. It’s grounding and so calm. Last night I went and hung out with some of my favourite people at Swan Lake. If you haven’t been there before, get yourself a 4WD as the dunes are a bit hard to access Where’s your happy place?

If you're on my waiting list I will be in touch to schedule you in the coming days. If you're wanting to book in, please flick me a message and I can schedule you in. I'm beyond excited that I can get back out and start capturing your beautiful families again. For my regional Victoria clients, ...we're not quite there yet, hopefully not much longer. 04.01.2022 Tell me, what is one thing you wished you had done to prepare yourself for the birth of your babe?

04.01.2022 As the years pass I am learning to love and embrace the amazing body I have been gifted. My body carried, nurtured and is raising two beautiful children. It’s not what it used to be, but wow what our bodies are capable of is incredible! I want to be a good role model. And for that to happen I have to truely feel comfortable in my skin. Dancing in the early morning by the ocean with beautiful women was one moment I will cherish. The laughter and joy was so empowering. I look at Eloise’s work and am truly honoured to have been a part of such a special morning celebrating our most authentic selves. I love my body, and all the body’s that joined me that morning. So incredibly beautiful just as we are. - Casey

01.01.2022 I started ‘Authentically YOU’ sessions to celebrate women and all that we are. I’ve found myself constantly comparing myself to other women for as long as I can remember. In grade 4 I was told I had a fat bum. In year 7 I was called an albino. In year 9 I was told I didn’t wear enough make-up. You’re getting the picture right? From a young age many women are told to not be themselves, not always intentionally but sometimes to just meet what society expects of women. We cover ...our skin up. We hide our blemishes. We join in on fad diets. We follow the latest fashion trends. We photoshop ourselves. We over filter our photos. I’m sure you could name 100 other things we do. Many of us have been to not been able to express our truest selves in fear of being ‘different’, loosing so called ‘friends’ and the fear of not being accepted in our circles. I know I can put my hand up to that. . Authentically YOU is more than stripping down. It’s taking the time to embrace every part of ourselves. It’s an opportunity to step away from reality. Put our phones down and stop comparing ourselves to others. I’ve recently done some private sessions and I can’t explain how lucky I feel to be photographing such wonderful and empowered souls. . Feeling the pull? You know where to find me. See more
