23.01.2022 Trying to switch it up in the mornings with a herbal tea rather than coffee first thing. I have a couple at work each morning, probably before 10am anyway.. so definitely don’t need the 5.30am one. It can be hard trying to change things up from what has been normal for you for so long. But after giving up alcohol, (it’s been 9 months without even a drop of alcohol) and a little longer without meat), I figured switching my morning coffee out shouldn’t be too hard! What’s... your morning go to? Or are you even too rushed to sit down and have a quiet cuppa? have a happy Wednesday.

22.01.2022 The struggle is real!

22.01.2022 Is there a better way to start the day than a little James Taylor and your husband cleaning? I don’t think so!!!!

19.01.2022 That’s what I like to see! Some pollination happening in the garden! We had to google this@as we’ve never seen it before, it’s a clearwing Sphinx moth it seems, (hummingbird moth), it hovers like a hummingbird to collect nectar rather than land on the flowers like bees do. #clearwingmoth #darwin #darwinlife #australiangarden #pollination

18.01.2022 this is probably a fact for many people. I know we had way too many coffee mugs at one stage.

15.01.2022 All I need to do is look at these 3 books and they make me feel good. Loved the old Anne of Green Gables, a strong straight shooter and honest, my kind of human. And I really enjoyed Oprah’s What I Know For Sure, some good little ah ha moments in that. And The Secret, well that’s a book you need to go back and read over and over (note the little sticky notes in it josh has put all the way through this book)! The next photo has two very old books in it, a Charles Dickens and Jane Austin, these were my nanas, so not sure how long they had them for, but they’re precious to me . The red one, no idea what that is actually but it looks cool . #bookstagram #whatiknowforsure #thesecret #needtoreadmore #darwinlife #oldbooks #janeaustin #charlesdickens

14.01.2022 I believe in less clutter of course, but I also believe in having nice things in your home. Decorating is my thing, I just enjoy it, and I think it’s important to have a home I love to come home to. I think everyone should look forward to getting home at the end of the day, and just enjoy being there over being anywhere else. We rented a place for a short time once that wasn’t airconditioned in the living space, we’d get mould growing on our things during the wet seaso...n and it was just not a nice place to be. When we’d go out and about we wouldn’t look forward to going home, it was a horrible feeling. I am grateful there have only been a couple of places we’ve lived where I felt that way. It breaks my heart when I hear people say they don’t enjoy going home. Home should be our safe place. If you can make changes to your space, then little things like a lick of paint, maybe warmer lights rather than white lights (I hate white lighting, so this is a personal preference), a nice calm piece of artwork you love. But if you can’t make changes like that, then decluttering will still 100% make your home feel calmer and a much nicer space to come home to.

11.01.2022 1 year alcohol free I actually can’t quite believe it’s been a whole year. It’s not as big of a deal for me as it is those who struggled big time with alcohol, drank every day and were full blown alcoholics. That’s not my story. But alcohol has been a big part of my whole life. Most families drink alcohol at every get together, most nights alcohol is consumed in many households. Mine was no different. There was no abuse toward others in my life, there’s no sad... story like that. But it was a controlling factor in many lives around me. I finally decided that wasn’t what I wanted. If I was able to give up eating animal products, surely I could give up alcohol. And holy shit, I did it! And as I’ve probably said before, I feel like superwomen. #soberlife #1yearalcoholfree #1yearsober #sobercurious #soberliving #alcoholfree #simplify #lifeisbeautiful See more

10.01.2022 Simplifying your life can be tough. It’s not easy letting go of things you think you may need one day, or worse, sentimental items. But you might just find that most of the clutter in your home isn’t sentimental at all, it’s just ‘stuff’. Do me a favour, even if you feel you’re not a ‘hoarder’ and don’t need to declutter. Go out your front door, hopefully it’s calm and peaceful outside. ... Just close your eyes and breath for a minute, relax. Now walk back into your home as if you’re walking in for the first time. How does it make you feel? Are you still relaxed? Or do you get a rush of anxiety about what you see? Clutter and too much ‘stuff’ causes so much stress in our minds that we aren’t even aware of. If you’ve never done a big declutter then you may not be aware that when you do it feels like the most liberating thing ever! The weight that is lifted off your shoulders is a weight you just never knew you were even carrying! Start small, start with your junk drawer, if even that feels too overwhelming maybe your makeup or sock drawer. Even the little clean outs will make you feel great.

09.01.2022 Can’t wait for this new doco by The Minimalists. It’s hard, it’s hard to let go of somethings, I get it. I mean we have ‘stuff’ in closest etc.. because let’s face it, when we get to our mid 40’s and had kids, we’ve accumulated things that we don’t want to get rid of. We have done pretty well, my husband won’t let me get rid of much more. But most of the things now in closets are things like suitcases and paperwork we have to keep etc.. we have to keep some things of cou...rse. And for me, I love decor, a home has to feel homely and comfortable. I couldn’t live in a stark cold place, and that’s not what minimalism is all about. You have to decide for yourself how far you want to go. I mean if you’re in your 20’s with no kids, you don’t need to have too much stuff, and maybe when you have kids it will mean you’ll be more careful about what you do buy them. Because people do buy way too much stuff for their kids and then they keep it for years to come, just accumulating more and more junk that gets shoved into closets and storage! But if you do have kids already, you can still minimise, people are always surprised at how much they have that they don’t need. My husband just saw the doco preview on Netflix and said oh when’s that out we should watch that! I said YES so we can have another big clear out... he said NO we aren’t getting rid of more stuff! But we’ll see about that! Can’t wait to watch it!

01.01.2022 Love this! Be so real and truthful that it makes other uncomfortable. Some people hate being around honest people, but I love it. Keeps you honest yourself and definitely keeps you from thinking too highly of yourself!
