Our 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program was developed by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn, University of Massachusetts Medical School. MBSR is recognised as the world's Gold Standard Mindfulness program and has inspired much of the research which now forms the basis of our understanding of mindfulness, it's impact on stress, health and mental health. 21.01.2022 This summer has vividly brought home the need for climate action. Perhaps, like me, you've been wondering how you can help. Check out the People's Climate Assembly FB page this Sunday 2nd Feb - Thurs 6th Feb on the lawns of Parliament house. The Climate Assembly is a coalition of organisations coming together to peacefully demand a declaration of a climate and ecological emergency. This week is the first sitting week of parliament for 2020.... I will be providing free mindfulness/yoga sessions for those involved in the Climate Assembly to help sustain them through the week. There will also be a group of meditation teachers from around Canberra, including Simply Mindful, running meditation sessions fairly continuously for anyone who wants to join on Sunday 2nd and Tuesday 4th Feb. Our practice can help us sustain ourselves, connect with what is important and enable us to be courageous and compassionate in the face of the distress and difficulties we individually and collectively face. https://www.facebook.com/events/952114955171432/
