Just to reiterate what this means, ask yourself these questions:... Who is your ideal customer? Think of each of these individually - what is their typical age, gender, occupation? What are their interests? What problems do they have? Have any questions? But the best images are real images of you and your place of business, your team, your products, and you doing what you do! So our hot tip for today is, if you can, engage the services of a professional photographer youll be amazed and delighted with the results. At the very least, get yourself some professional headshots, they seriously do make a difference!

24.01.2022 #websitetips #websitecontent When clients contact me for a website and we are working through what content they need to send through, it can all be a little overwhelming! Where should I start?... Your homepage is the most important page on your site however the approach that I generally suggest when you're building your website, and you're creating your content is to start with your services pages or your products. Then the about page and get that all fleshed out, and then your homepage will include a sort of a summary of those pages. On your homepage in your header area, you need to include your mission-critical message. what your service is the products that you offer who is your target market You can then have a background image that draws attention, but without overpowering the message. You want people to see the message that you're trying to get across. We have a handy tutorial that goes into more detail, listen here: https://youtu.be/gpE1RBVw5Zg

23.01.2022 The idea with your content is to ENGAGE and CONVERT your visitors. You need to build trust, make them feel understood. So understanding your audience and the language that theyre using is where that comes in, start a conversation. And then send them on a journey to take that next step.

22.01.2022 Hands up if you have time to waste trying to engage with people who arent your ideal customers? Didnt think so, which is why it is SUPER important to give some thought as to who you really want to engage with. The most important thing is to understand their pain points Keep these things in mind when planning your website:... It must be immediately obvious that you understand your customers problems and can provide the solutions they need. The words you write for your pages (the website copy) are what is going to resonate with them, to help them to trust you enough to take the next step. Make sure you use appropriate calls to action what do you want your visitors to do on your website? Let them know what they should do next dont leave it to them to figure it out or theyll likely do nothing. Still not sure if you website is set up to attract your ideal customer? Book a 1:1 call with Gaye and nut it out together! https://simplysavvy.com.au/australian-small-business-advis/

10.01.2022 Keeping informed about potential security issues...

10.01.2022 WordPress latest release - coming 11th August - with some exciting updates! (Exciting for web nerds like me, sure - but if youre a WordPress website owner you really should keep up with it too!) In brief, these are the main updates 5.5 will include -... Auto updates for plugins and themes: Keeping your plugins/themes up to date is one of the most important things you can do for your sites security While there are some precautions you should take (i.e. regular backups), many plugin updates can safely be automated; you will have the option to turn this on or off individually. XML sitemaps: What is this, you may ask? While search engines will automatically - eventually - crawl your site and index your content, a sitemap basically makes this process quicker and easier. Lazy-loading of images: Loading of images on a web page has a big impact on your page load speed - which in turn affects your search ranking. This new feature will only load images as they are actually needed (as the user scrolls down the page), enabling the page to load as fast as possible. There are also a few updates to improve the new block editor, plus - something that will make life somewhat easier for the web devs out there - the ability to update plugins by uploading a zip file (yay!).
