16.01.2022 Our Meet the Brook Fairy a toddler meander is on this Sunday. Fully booked so our Fairy and her young fairy assistant will be very very busy Lesmurdie Brook is a pretty backdrop for our Fairies The attached map shows the 1.5km loop that winds around and over the brook with bridges, sparkling little waterfalls, even a weir. We actually walk only a tiny part of the 1.5km leaving parents to meander with their toddler/s on their own after the fairy entertainment. We hold our fairy morning tea with scones and jam and cream at a picnic seat that has views over the city. 10.01.2022 Last Saturday Simply Trekking guided a multi-generational family group up the uneven rocky path to reach the top of Ellis Brook Sixty Foot Falls. With ages 6 to 76 it was a challenge but well worth it and enjoyed by all. We reckon if a 68, 73 and 76 year old can do it so can you. Great views out to the city from the top, it is a more gentle descend on the circuit arriving at the entrance to the rock quarry which is fascinating with its sheer rock sides and blue green water.... The quarry is used by rock climbers which make it entertaining and our kids did try a little rock climbing of their own. Back at the sixty foot falls entrance we enjoyed a much deserved yummy morning tea of scones, jam and cream and coffee. 08.01.2022 Whilst walking in my local community recently I was arrested by the sound of numerous birds calling. I was transfixed by them. They were circling each other in the bushes there ...they broke me out of my mood (which was feeling somewhat down with the pressure of family life) and I could not help but grin. I love the effect of walking in nature. Many a time you hear of people in a rut and they go on a pilgrimage and it has a amazing ability to turn you around in perspective. 06.01.2022 A fun family overnight trek last night ..kids 6yrs and 9yrs bounced along carrying their own backpacks for 5kms visiting the Camel farm and mountain bike tracks along the way to Hewitts Hut on the Bibbulmun Track..with a car shuffle it was only 20mins walk out the next day easy to achieve. Great campfire at night as well as for breakfast.. fun time for all .
