21.01.2022 Businesses: Do you have new employees who will now be eligible for the JobKeeper Payment? You now have until 31 August to pay your new employees for the fortni...ghts commencing on 3 and 17 August 2020. For more details on the changes, see https://www.ato.gov.au//JobKeeper-Payment/Employers/Your-/

21.01.2022 JobKeeper RULE CHANGE - 24/4/2020 Full time students aged 16 and 17 years old: As noted in the explanatory statement to the existing rules, the benefit of the JobKeeper payment to workers over the age of 16 is justified for those who are financially independent and who require the security provided by participation in the JobKeeper scheme and the maintenance of the working relationship that it affords. The rules will provide that full time students who are 17 years old and ...younger, and who are not financially independent, are not eligible for the JobKeeper Payment. This clarification will apply prospectively, which would mean an eligible employer that has already met the wage condition of paying such an employee $1,500 for a fortnight could be entitled to a JobKeeper Payment in arrears for that fortnight. You will have to retest every employee under 18. If the employer has paid them $1500 already they will be reimbursed, future payments will not be reimbursed. See more

From 11:59pm Wednesday 5 August, employers will be required to issue signed permits to their employees to allow them to attend a workplace to prevent people trying to get around the tou...gh new restrictions. There will be templates on Business Victoria website shortly. This will be signed by your employer and your employee. For industries that have identity requirements already, for example health workers and emergency services, this will be sufficient. More detail will follow.

10.01.2022 The Prime Minister has once again addressed the nation on a new $130 billion stimulus package. The package involves the following: Changes to individuals Jobseeker eligibility:... Prior to the Coronavirus, Centrelink qualified applications on an assets test and a spouses income needed to be under $48K. From the 25/03/2020 there will be no assets test and as mentioned today, the spouses income limit has been adjusted to $79K, making it available to more Australians. Changes to Australian Businesses The Australian Government have created, what they are calling a Jobkeeper Payment (not to be confused with Jobseeker Payment) to eligible employers of $1,500.00 per employee, per fortnight, for the next 6 months. The employee must be on the books as of the 1st of March. This payment can be for full-time, part-time and casual employees (casuals must have been employed for 12 months). To be eligible you must have suffered a decrease in income of 30% or more due to the Coronavirus. Payments will flow from the first week of May 2020 but will be backdated to today. 07.01.2022 The Coronavirus Economic Response Bill (JobKeeper) passed both houses of Parliament on the 8th of April 2020, and it has also been given royal assent. The Bill has allowed Treasury to set out the details of how the JobKeeper package will work, and also allows the ATO to administer it. That said, the fact sheets are still being updated daily, and the ATO are still in the process of creating its own JobKeeper website: https://www.ato.gov.au/general/gen/JobKeeper-payment which ...has had an update today to include a massive amount of important information. The ATO have stated that you will be able to enrol in the JobKeeper Scheme from the 20th of April 2020 using an online form on their website. The employee must agree to be nominated by you and they must complete a JobKeeper Employee Nomination Notice. Section A is to be completed by the Employer and Section B through to D is to be completed by the employee. This is not to be sent to the ATO but a completed form must be kept on file. See more
