05.01.2022 Dear violin students ! I invite you to join me in a 3-day online mastercourse, live online for young violin students aged 6-18 on September 28, 29 and 30, 2020.... (Monday to Wednesday OUTSIDE SCHOOL HOURS!!). Mastercourse session times: This information will be notified to a maximum of 20 selected participants, on September 25, 2020. The selection of participants will be based on performance recording submissions of links (youtube is preferred) by email only, together with an artistic biography and a list of own- choice repertoire for performance in the mastercourse, if selected. Participation fee: 100 Australian Dollars (100 $AUD) includes a 1-hour open individual lesson and the opportunity to freely observe all other students' lessons. Parents of participating students are also welcome to observe all classes free of charge. Entry Requirements: Open to violin students aged 6-18, from ANY COUNTRY. 1) Please send by the deadline -- Australian Eastern Standard Time 11.59pm September 24, 2020 --- the following: a) Performance video link/s of your choice of 2 contrasting works of different styles, of maximum total of 10 minutes duration, with or without piano accompaniment. b) Artistic biography (in PDF format only). Please Note: This information is simply to get a general idea of the study and musical activities / background, however , where applicable, a more detailed biography from senior students is recommended ! c) Repertoire list from which you wish to perform in the mastercourse, if selected. Her mentors included Peter Zhang, Viktor Pikaizen and Maxim Fedotov, the latter in admiration of Linda’s most serious attitude to our profession and, in the best sense of the word fanatical love of music and the violin...Linda Gilbert will occupy a most worthy place in concert life. Miss Gilbert also performed in masterclasses in Australia and Europe, including those at Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Mozarteum Academy in Salzburg and Blackmore International Music Academy in Berlin, for musicians such as Alexander Kirov, Shlomo Mintz, Michael Vaiman, Haggai Shaham and Zakhar Bron. Since making her acclaimed solo recital debut at age 19 at Manning Entertainment Centre following her win of Roma Liggins Scholarship for Par Excellence In The Field Of The Arts, Linda Gilbert has been increasingly in demand as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Australia and abroad. In addition to her regular busy concert schedules, Miss Gilbert has performed at a variety of festivals and events in such venues as Sydney’s Macquarie University Theatre, Bolshoi Zal of Kostroma Symphony Orchestra, Stanley-Burbury Theatre at the University of Tasmania, Concert Hall of Moscow Central Music School and the Myaskovsky, Rachmaninov and Chamber Halls of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. As well as sharing her love of performing for diverse audiences, Linda Gilbert has a passion for educating children and young people in the art of musical performance specialising in the art of violin pedagogy. Miss Gilbert regularly lectures and gives masterclasses in schools/multicultural centres.
