13.01.2022 Singapore Club Camp at Mount Tamborine - 2nd - 5th October 2020. Maybe this camp should be renamed Eating Camp because it feels like we are eating so much over the 3 days. But seriously there is so much to keep us occupied during our yearly camp get together. You should join us sometime if you haven’t been before as we have so much fun doing all sorts of different activities and as stated above we also eat a lot!!!

09.01.2022 Thought I would add part of our Singa News newsletter for May-June 2020 WHEN THE SINGAPORE CLUB COMMITTEE IS CALLED TO ACTION. We don’t hesitate. Recently the Singapore Club received an email from the President of the UQSSS seeking help for the donation of welfare packs for students who were in quarantine. Sue shared the message in our committee’s What’s App group to discuss our plan of action. Here is an idea of how the committee jumps to action and gets things done. Of c...ourse in different situations, different people take the lead but in this case a few people stood out as Super Stars and we commend them for their fortitude, big heartedness and speed in getting things done! Thank you Singapore Club Committee Members for your generosity - Sue & Jim, Anthea & Allen, Dr Sidhu, Angela, Anne, Julie, Dolly, Shirley & Heather.
06.01.2022 A great day out fundraising at the Singapore Club’s Sausage Sizzle at Bunnings Warehouse, Compton Road today. Plenty of hungry shoppers had us working really hard all day from 6am-4pm to sell those delicious snags. Thanks to everyone who came to do a shift today and a huge thanks to those who also helped out with the preparations! (Full story in upcoming newsletter)
05.01.2022 The year of the Metal Rat 2020! We do not know whether to love you or hate you! You arrived ferociously and mercilessly bringing fear, devastation and heartache to some nations you stomped on! We watched helplessly with misty eyes as the bush fire ravaged so many parts of Australia and killed billions of wildlife! And then, the floods! As if that’s not enough to punish us, you gave us a real nightmare - The Wuhan Corona Virus! A few of our female members went up to the stag...e to Gong Xi our guests and our Caucasian members were right into the mood, turning left and right, wishing those sitting next to them, singing Gong Xi Gong Xi too! Can you envisage 240 guests, the chanting of Huat Ah was almost deafening when it was time for tossing the Yu Sang! Midway through dinner, we were once again entertained by the HA HA Team. This time Heather and Anthea got some audience participation. Lots of laughs. Then the moment we had been waiting for the winner of the Singapore Airlines & Singapore Club sponsored airline ticket landed straight on our table! The loudest ever scream from Angie as number 33 was picked as the winning ticket! Those that didn’t win, don’t be too disheartened! your turn will come! It was a marvellous effort by the committee and we could not have pulled this off without the support of the 240 guests. Written by Anne Parry See more

Sue is the tireless driving force behind our club and even at 70 years young, she is always on the GO-GO-GO to lead the Committee into organising all our functions throughout the years! Best Wishes Sue for a Blessed and Healthy 70th Birthday with many more to come!
