09.01.2022 MORE PASSENGER TRAIN SERVICES TO COMMENCE IN SINGLETON ON 5 JANUARY 2020 After 10 years of campaigning, the Two More Trains for Singleton group has achieved the...ir aim with an announcement by Regional Transport and Roads Minister Paul Toole at Singleton Railway Station today. Mayor of Singleton, Cr Sue Moore and Member for Upper Hunter Michael Johnsen MP, along with representatives from Two More Trains for Singleton, were on hand to hear that two additional passenger services between Singleton and Newcastle would commence from 5 January 2020. The afternoon services would give commuters an additional two hours in Newcastle or Sydney without missing the last train home. This is a great achievement for the community, and a campaign that Council has whole-heartedly supported particularly as part of the Singleton Advocacy Agenda, Cr Moore said. I’m thrilled with this outcome and congratulate everyone who has been involved in the countless meetings, letters and petitions over the years to achieve this result, in particular Martin Fallding and Anne Boyd. It’s now up to us in the community to take advantage of their hard work and use these services to make sure they not only continue, but that we might even continue to grow our passenger timetable.

04.01.2022 It’s spring and for most snake species it’s mating time. This time of year can see male snakes move great distances in search of females. The drive to mate and ...following scent trails can make snakes quite oblivious to their surrounds and they can find themselves in areas or situations they would normally do their absolute best to avoid. It can be a very challenging time for them as they travel searching for a mate and cross paths with people, vehicles, pets etc. Please keep this in mind. Best thing to do is give them space and allow them to continue their search. If you are uncomfortable with this, calling a catcher is always next best. Snakes are NOT more aggressive this time of year. A very common myth that is thrown around. They are too focussed on mating to care about anything else. If you require any info, a snake identified or would like one removed, feel free to contact me at Bill's Snake Relocate Picture is a tiger snake (Notechis scutatus).

04.01.2022 ~ FAREWELL THE OLD BANK ~ These doors have housed Shaw & Bunner Legal for nearly three years now and we have enjoyed the opportunity to grow a law firm within t...he walls of such a character filled building. Whilst the Bank has been the perfect starting point, the time has come for us to move on as we have simply outgrown the usable space. Our new office will not be far ~ a few doors up the road in fact ~ and we take the keys today. We hope to be operational from the new office by the end of next week #watchthisspace It will be a sad day when we close the Bank doors for good however excited for the next chapter! #newofficespace #officerelocation
