23.01.2022 Were all playing a part in helping to minimising the spread of the Coronavirus. Singleton Physio are taking measures to help minimise the spread and appreciate your understanding and cooperation while we all work together to do so. We are a hands-on clinic so are taking the necessary steps to remain so, including remaining super vigilant with our hand washing and hygiene procedures. Were also looking to provide online Telehealth consultations in the near future for those... folks who are isolated and unable to attend our clinic. These precautions are not meant to alarm or offend anyone, simply following the recommendations set out by the World Health Organisation and other health departments around the world. Screening questions for our clients: 1. Have you travelled overseas in the last 2 weeks, in particular to China, Iran, Korea, Italy, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong and Singapore? 2. Have you come into contact with anyone who has travelled to the above countries? 3. In the last 2 weeks have you had a cough, fever or difficulty breathing? If you answer yes to any of these there may be a 14 day isolation period that applies to you. If you are experiencing symptoms of the virus you are recommended to contact your local GP and may be required to obtain a clearance before attending our practice.

23.01.2022 @exerciseright_aus and @10000steps_ have teamed up to start the new initiative of the AFTER WORK WALK. From 16-20 November we are encouraging you to chuck on your joggers, grab your dog and head out for a walk While it can be difficult to find the time to exercise, especially for those working a full-time job, there are many small things that can be done to help increase daily steps. Whether it is walking home from work, walking to a bus stop that is further along th...e street or parking the car further away than usual. ESSA has now launched its After Work Walk campaign with 10,000 Steps to encourage corporate workers who are more likely to spend their day sitting to increase their daily steps and be made aware of the benefits that walking can have on an individual’s physical and mental health. With more people returning back into the office due to COVID-19, it is our mission to remind them to continue to exercise and highlight the importance of fitting exercise into their busy lifestyles where they can, such as with an after work walk." #AfterWorkWalk

23.01.2022 November 8-15th is NAIDOC Week. This years theme is Always Was, Always Will Be. This recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country - a history which dates back thousands of generations. (taken from @naidocweek website)

21.01.2022 October is Mental Health Month and with all the stress of 2020, this year it is more important than ever to promote the importance of physical activity for mental health. The article below from Exercise and Sports Science Australia highlights the growing evidence that exercise is beneficial for our mental health and helps to protect against a decline in mental health. Even short bouts of just 10 minutes have shown to be effective for improving mood! Lift some weights, go for ...walk, or try a Yoga class; all types and intensities of exercise can help to improve symptoms of mental health. Contact an exercise professional for more exercise advice and to help get you started. #ExerciseisMedicine #MentalHealthMonth See more

21.01.2022 NATIONAL DIABETES WEEK!! Here at Singleton Physiotherapy we are proud to offer the Healthy Eating Activity & Lifestyle (HEAL) Program. This new initiative is fully funded through Medicare to make it accessible to everyone.... This program aims to support participants to make long term healthier lifestyle choices through increased awareness of healthy eating and increases in physical activity. It is particularly designed for those participants who are at risk of developing lifestyle diseases such as cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. The 8 week program allows participants to avoid solely addressing the issues of food and nutrition education, but rather to look at and understand the underlying issues and influences on eating behaviour and physical activity participation. Each session is delivered and supervised by an accredited allied health professional to ensure you are receiving the best and safest service possible and to answer any questions that may arise of the term of your program. For more information or to register your interest for these classes please call the clinic on 6572 1614."
