25.01.2022 Not to mention the chaos in Scholars Drive that the local Council is responsible for (it is a Council owned road). Still no solution in site, just buck passing to the State Government. Here is a link to Wayne's FB page. https://www.facebook.com/waynehollydivision6/

13.01.2022 Siobhan Gosper - Candidate for Division 6. https://www.facebook.com/siobhangosperdiv6/

12.01.2022 OPEN LETTER --- To all Division 6 Resident please see my TOP PRIORITES & VISION FOR THE FUTURE! 1. Traffic Congestion... "Keeping our Kids Safe" Program REAL Solutions... "Keeping our Kids Safe" Program. I am excited to have an Action plan "FULLY FUNDED*" for Division 6 that will be released on Wednesday. Fixing the problems in School zones that is the result of in action...Real change starts March 28. *Re-allocation and prioritisation of capital works budgets and any other funding sources applicable to Division 6. A. Scholars Drive I have a REAL Solution that can be implemented immediately to "Keeping our Kids Safe", ease traffic flow on Scholars Way, rather the Dickson's 12 year waffle of buck passing and making the State Government pay! Scholar Dr will never be fixed and Harmony will be the same. Again Christian Dickson is splashing promises of $200k (reported in your paper today and elsewhere) but on the Chancellor State College Information Page (attached) has has openly stated $400k. Again just a cash grab more empty promises that we know the State Government wont help. Another 4 years of inaction. My plan bringing forward the upgrading and re-alignment of the Scholars Road and University Way roundabout into 2 lanes. Allowing the Scholars drive to have 2 dedicated lanes exiting. This upgrade will increase traffic flow and can be delivered sooner than the 12 years to date. B. Chancellor High School. Reducing traffic congestion and gridlock and "Keeping our Kids Safe" by adding an exit from Claymore Road onto the exit of the Sunshine Motorway with help from the State Government (if we have to go alone, then we will save money to make it happen), moving traffic from the poorly planned Fast Food Service Centre and Chancellor High School zone.. C. Brightwater School A traffic congestion reduction plan will be released on Wednesday 8:30am Brightwater School. "Keeping our Kids Safe". D. Mountain Creek Under Review. 2. Parks + Amenities A. Mountain Creek i. Parks and Playgrounds Upgrade all outdated parks (excluding developer fund or rates levied parks) ) to places where the community can meet and enjoy their local surroundings, modern play equipment and smart night lighting. ii. Dog Parks Upgrading all dog parks to include 2 separate areas for small and large dogs, seating, more trees for shade and environmental aspects. NEW Smart night lights to ensure safety. B. Sippy Downs i. Parks and Playgrounds Upgrade all outdated parks to places where the community can meet and enjoy their local surroundings, modern play equipment and smart night lighting. ii. Dog Parks Upgrading all dog parks to include 2 separate areas for small and large dogs, seating and more trees for shade and environmental aspects. NEW Smart night lights to ensure safety. C. Green Corridors Purchase land and ensure that I protect strategic areas of high conservation value vegetation and ensures more green spaces.Wildlife friendly. All before it is too late to do so! D. Cycle ways and footpaths Add new wider footpaths on all cycle ways in Division 6. Connecting Division 6 by Cylce ways New footpaths all over Division 6 3. Infrastructure A. Poor Planning Decisions Poor planning decisions of the past will not be tolerated or accepted. All planning decision must follow the Town Planning Scheme and create positive outcomes for the community. Not just for the sake of the "Developer first" approach. i. Sippy Downs Fast Food Centre - Safety issues with School Children - Increased traffic and congestion - Exit is only left out onto busy road and roundabout ii. Sippy Downs Town Centre - Traffic lights not synchronised - Not structured cosmetically as a Town Centre - Disjointed and too much wasted space on roads that space could have been better utilised. - No lifestyle precinct - No Open/Green community Space B. Mountain Creek Main Street Program (Karawatha Drive) Breathe new life into the Karawatha Dr, the entry point for our Mountain Creek residents who have been left behind with no beautification works or improvements. The benefits to residents are increased house values, better visual presence, a sense of happiness that rivals SIppy Downs,Bright Water Estate and Harmony Estate. C. Sippy Downs Town Centre Library and Community Centre Scale back development from 6 to 2 stories Invest money into new community facilities and centres in Brightwater, Harmony and Mountain Creek. Increase green space and make it a place for the community to relax and enjoy D. Claymore Road Bring forward FULL dual lane duplication of Claymore Road. Before the 17,000 new residents are there - 2031 is TOO LATE! Clogging University Way, Fitzwilliam Drive and Albany Street in to gridlock! The Western Access point onto the Bruce Highway for Palmview residents more than 5 years away. Is it Guaranteed and funded? E. Public Transport and Bush Shelters - Increasing public transport options for residents of Sippy Downs, Brightwater, Mountain Creek and Harmony. - Increasing the number of NEW bus shelters to Mountain Creek. E. New Roads Ensuring that all new roads planned and built meet the needs of the community and connect to STOP traffic congestion. 4. Planning for the Future As Division 6 grows over the next 4 years, we must be prepared for the challenges this creates. Roads proposed, I will ensure that they have the traffic capacity for the completed development, not just TODAY! Developers must pay contributions or build facilities (as part of development approval) that will be provided on or before completion of their developments. Division 6 will not be left behind because of development. 5. OPEN Transparency Council meetings will be OPEN and transparent. Closed meetings only for legal issues or commercially sensitive. I will be transparent in all voting decisions that affect the Sunshine Coast. Not AUTOMATICALLY supporting the Mayor or CEO in decisions like Sekisui, unless I deem it to be materially affecting the Council that it requires confidentiality. 6. Stopping the Rorts Division 6 funds of $100k from the 20/21 budget will NOT be spent on Division 7 7. Rates Freeze 12 months Sunshine Coast ratepayers will be severely affected by the flow on from the COVID-19 virus. It will hit our Tourism, Retail and service sectors. Hard working ratepayers will need relief. Being FAIR is the key to rebuilding trust between Council and ratepayers. This is just the beginning.....we have much to fix and deliver for the future. REAL Solutions starts March 28. VOTE 1 - Wayne Holly Please feel free to contact for any further information
