24.01.2022 Take a look at our fire testing of SIPs panels. SIPs Industries' panels are fire rated for almost all building applications. Our panels are rated to Material Group 3 allowing them to be exposed as a finished surface in many residential and commercial applications. Panels are generally plasterboard lined internally. The panel system is rated for use as separating walls and boundary walls to FRL 60/60/60 and FRL 90/90/90... BAL Bushfire Attack Level SIPs can be used as the structural wall, roof and floor components in all BAL zones. BAL requirement are based on the cladding systems proposed. We do recommend that our technical team are contacted prior to design, particularly with relation to BAL 40 and FZ. It is likely SIPs Industries Panels may comply with the ABCBs new Australian Standard AS 5113 External Wall Assemblies which is due to be introduced into a new NCC Volume One Verification Method in a future edition of the NCC.

24.01.2022 Take a look at the photos from a recent home extension project in Victoria. The owners gave us their story. We are two architects who designed hundreds of thousands of square meters of buildings, but nothing for ourselves. So we embarked on a journey of building a house for us. We bought a piece of land with a tiny house on it, only livable for the time we were building our dream house. Planning put some cold water on our dreams (very cold) and we ended up building an extensi...on to our tiny house. We have tried to use SIP's in our designs beforen but clients, developers and builders alike refuse to use them. We however believed in the benefits of using SIP's: 1. Easy to transport 2. Easy to install 3. Combined functionality in one single construction element 4. Thermal properties 5. Acoustic properties 6. Fast construction method Installing floor, wall and roof panels for a 2 story house: Day 1 - 8 floor panels Day 2 - 14 floor panels and wall plates installed Day 3 - 24 wall panels Day 4 - 10 roof panels Day 5 - 2 roof panels and 15 wall panels Three man carpenter crew with no previous experience installing SIPs. The only challenge was the installation of the roof panels. Due to a sloping site with limited access and proximity to the existing house we had to use a crane. We would like to see our kids bedrooms being used by our grandchildren. This construction method is different, special, is bespoke and so will your project be.
