21.01.2022 My column for this week which is going out as a Newsletter this morning. Greetings Brethren Well, it’s been quite a roller coaster ride since I wrote last week’s column. What we’ve been hoping would not happen - transmission through community contact - has happened. Thankfully the official response has been swift and as I write this on Monday evening no significant outbreaks appear to have occurred and sources are being traced....Continue reading

20.01.2022 Following is my weekly update, but can I preface it by reiterating that this is based on no community spread of this virus in Queensland. I wrote the piece yesterday and this morning there is a report of a lockdown in an aged care facility on the Sunshine Coast. No results for 48 hours. Let's hope it's a false alarm. Should we have an outbreak then extreme caution will prevail. I'm not a betting man. If I won't gamble with my own money you can be sure I won't gamble with your...Continue reading

19.01.2022 Watching the Series Grand Designs Australia today at home while off work with medical issues. Today it featured a house at Southport bought by a couple who lovingly and with great taste restored and rebuilt with some modifications the home originally owned by Sir A.C.Gregory ...as they flicked through some memorabilia of him and photo of the original house they showed a photo of RW Bro Sir A C Gregory in Grand Regalia. After the rebuild they placed a small name plaque on the ...home honouring this great man. Another famous Australian who was a Freemason. After this I researched him on a few searches and found many links to Brisbane and particularly our Grand Lodge. Always good to inquire further and find more about famous Brethren who set the benchmarks for current Freemasons in Queensland and Australia and indeed around the world to aspire to.. The more I read about the exploits of this man in his role as Surveyor General and his exploration in the 1800's it held me in awe.. and I feel although in my life I may not achieve the greatness or knowledge of men like this it makes me proud to have joined this great and Honourable Fraternity ... I have added some photos of interest I found on several sources.

03.01.2022 My weekly newsletter that will be distributed via email. Greetings Brethren COVID-safe kits and guidelines/plans have now been distributed and a small number of lodges have indicated their interest in having meetings in the short term to tidy up outstanding issues that couldn’t be resolved by means other than face to face meetings....Continue reading
