This is not by choice, however we will continue to abide by and enforce all guidelines & recommendations put in place by our Government We would like to thank you all for your support during these trying times. Having so many people come in last week saying how much they love this place and that there’s no better place for meals and friendly staff in Geelong makes i...t all worthwhile. We will be back and if it’s possible even better than before. Supporting local, family owned and operated businesses will be essential going forward. Businesses with the lowest profit margins will be the hardest hit. So think, what venues provide you the best value food and drinks as those will generally be the businesses that suffer most. 17.01.2022 Just to confirm what a lot of people have been asking, we will be open again from Monday 1st June. We've been busy this week thoroughly cleaning all surfaces including steam cleaning of all carpets to ensure a comfortable, clean and most importantly a safe environment for your dining experience. We will however have a reduced capacity as we have removed a number of tables and chairs to ensure all social distancing requirements are met. Bookings will be essential going forward... as we are already very close to capacity on Tuesday for our famous steak night & Thursday's Parmi night isn't far behind. We have hand sanitising stations set up in both the bar and bistro and in line with new hospitality COVID rules, everyone who enters the premises will be required to provide their first name & phone number and sanitise hands. All tables, chairs & grinders will be sanitised after every use with door handles, toilets etc also frequently cleaned. There will be no communal sauce, water etc and instead everything will be provided upon request. Restaurants and pubs like us that offer delicious food at tremendous value and therefore require high turnover have been the hardest hit. With the restrictions in place on patron numbers this will continue in the foreseeable future so why not save some money and support your favourite local? We are family owned and operated and look forward to seeing our amazing customers again and thank you for your support during these challenging times. 09.01.2022 Finally some good news the Sir Charles Darling Hotel is back open for business so we can all get our food fix again. We are open Wednesday to Sunday 11.30am-2pm & 5-8pm for delivery and takeaway. The temporary menu is available to view and also place orders online at sircharlesdarling.com.au. We have a dedicated drive thru area so just call or honk and we’ll bring it out or you can come in to collect. Hope everyone is coping as I know this has hit a lot of people very ha...rd. 09.01.2022 The response from everyone has been unreal and we’re truly sorry we have now turned away well over 150 people since we opened on Monday last week . Next week we are going to start trying to double seat where possible on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. We’re trying to avoid set dining times as it goes against the laid back, relaxed atmosphere people love, but if possible either earlier bookings before 6pm or later after 7pm will certainly help enormously. I kno...w this isn’t ideal and it will only be until restrictions on spacing are lifted. Anyone who has dined with us recently will have seen the lengths we go to after each and every party to ensure sanitised, sparkling settings. With table service one of many new requirements, the Sir Charles Darling has been transformed into a fine dining restaurant, with the same insane prices as before.
