22.01.2022 Oh no it's one of those pyramid things As a trainer I see so many people putting their focus in the wrong areas when it comes to the health, particularly those on weight loss journeys. Your diet makes up 70-80% of your overall result, so paying more attention there will yield far greater results which are much easier to maintain.... Physical fitness is certainly an important aspect of a healthy lifestyle, however it shouldn't be the first place you turn to when addressing your health.

21.01.2022 Haha who can relate? As a former PT and now having run a nutrition business with just under ten thousand clients, I come across this kind of attitude from time to time. Naturally my response are always supportive but perhaps there's a small part of me which is like If you're focusing on a weight loss journey at the moment here's a couple of things to consider -... Be realistic. If it took you a few months/years to put the weight on, you can't expect it to come off over night. Diet is king, you simply can't out train a bad diet. So spend more time and effort focusing on getting that part right. Develop a lifestyle which is maintainable and has clear pathways back onto the 'wagon' for when you slip off. Too many people have seasonal strategies for health, why not have a goal to enjoy 12 months a year of great health. Hydration, sleep, stress and toxicity all play a role in weight gain and weight loss. So don't ignore these areas. Yes macro nutrients matter but don't ignore your micro nutrients - vitamins, minerals, trace minerals are all necessary in a healthy diet. Just a few thoughts from me. Stay happy and keep believing that your best health is still to come

17.01.2022 Practice what you preach Here are my recent body analysis test results and to say I'm blown away is an understatement. Recently I've made some tweaks in my life style (summer body prep) by including more cleanse days, training 3 days a week and really dialling in my protein pacing. Truthfully I've not been 100% on target, I've enjoyed some chocolate, a few glasses of wine over dinner and a few beers during the recent footy finals. But with all that my body fat % is as low ...as it's been in a long time, more importantly my lean muscle has been increasing and this is the sign of a healthy diet and lifestyle, plus the ability to get back on track with an easy to follow program. You can clearly see the drops in body fat from my recent cleanse days (4 of them). I did three Mondays in a row of cleansing, I then had 2 weeks off due to various reasons and you can clearly see the body fat reaction. 12.01.2022 I see this quite often where a person might look ok in their clothes yet their body composition shows that they have too much visceral fat. Visceral fat is fat that surrounds the organs. Though it is not visible from the outside, it is associated with numerous diseases. Stress can also play a role in storing excess visceral fat. This is because when someone is stressed, their body releases a hormone called cortisol, which increases how much visceral fat a person's body stores. Do you know how much visceral fat you have?

11.01.2022 A good nutrition system or diet will help you lose unwanted fat whilst maintaining and/or building lean muscle. Many people 'diet' and are unaware of where the weight is coming from, often losing metabolism boosting muscle. Here's a graph of my wife's body analysis results which were taken over the course of a few months. Due to a number of reasons she has not been able to properly train for the past 9 months.
