25.01.2022 OPTUS Digital have delivered sessions on Digital Identity and Digital Discernment to students in Year 7 and 9 this week. Supporting young people to be safe, responsible and positive online is a key challenge for educators and parents alike. Recently the team from the Optus Digital Thumbprint program were in the classroom with our Year [insert year] students taking them through the fun and interactive workshops that cover a range of important issues such as cybersecurity, cybe...rbullying, digital discernment, digital balance, and digital identity. It is very important to be aware of these topics so that your child is prepared and supported to thrive in the digital world. 02.01.2022 CBCity supporting Mental Health Month this October, are proud to partner with the Butterfly Foundation to present Body Confident Children and Tweens For parents of children and tweens This event is targeted at an adult audience. We kindly ask that children do not attend.... With so many confusing messages around weight and shape and with many adults struggling with their own body image in can be difficult for parents to know how best to support their child as they move through adolescence. This relaxed and informative seminar for carers of primary and secondary age children gives practical tips to help you better understand and promote positive body image in the home. In this session you will cover: Overview of body image and the importance of prevention The spectrum of body and eating issues Key influence on body image, including social media The impact of diet culture and weight stigma Busting common myths around eating disorders Reducing appearance talk and how to respond when a child expresses negativity towards themselves/others The power of role modelling positive body image and behaviours Understanding warning signs and the importance of early intervention.
