17.01.2022 ~ Kos ~ This is one of two pieces I painted for the Kytherian art show which opens tomorrow night, showcasing artists who are descendants from the island of Kythera. Mums side represent. This piece in particular is an ode to my mum, Kos, the most beautiful colourful being. I used to look at photos of her when she was younger and think, shes so cool, I want to be like her, her style really influenced my love of colour, patterns and opened my eyes to the creative world when I was only just a little bebe. Im forever grateful for my creative, strong, Greek woman upbringing, even when sometimes I didnt realise it, Thanks mum x Konstantina Manolatos

11.01.2022 ~ Rita ~ The second and last piece in the Kytherian series, this time honouring my yiayia Rita, (Areti) who left Kythera as a young girl looking for a better life in Australia. She set up shop in Byron Bay with my Pappou, and brought up their 6 kids there. She was the heart and vivacious Greek soul of the community & her family. Not having a lot but giving back so much. Strong, fierce, gentle, caring and cheeky, whose values & influence still runs strong in our family to this day
